  • Patent number: 11120756
Abstract: A liquid crystal panel includes a liquid crystal layer, a pixel electrode, and a common electrode. In a case where the AC voltage of a certain amplitude is supplied to the pixel electrode, an optimum common voltage fluctuates from a first optimum common voltage to a second optimum common voltage, the optimum common voltage being the common voltage that minimizes a transmittance difference between the transmittance of the pixel before a reversal of polarity of the pixel voltage and the transmittance of the pixel after the reversal of polarity of the pixel voltage. The common voltage is a voltage that is higher than the first optimum common voltage and lower than the second optimum common voltage or a voltage that is lower than the first optimum common voltage and higher than the second optimum common voltage.

  • Publication number: 20180149896
Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid crystal display panel that can maintain electrical connection between a transparent conductive film on one of the substrates of the liquid crystal display panel and a terminal on the other substrate and thereby stably eliminate static electricity. The liquid crystal display panel of the present invention includes: a first substrate on which a transparent conductive film is formed; a second substrate on which a terminal whose surface is conductive is formed; a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a conductive member that electrically connects the transparent conductive film and the terminal, the conductive member containing flaky conductive filler particles and a conductive material different from the flaky conductive filler particles.

  • Publication number: 20100110318
Abstract: The present invention provides a semi-transmissive or reflective liquid crystal display device in which gray scale inversion is suppressed by appropriately adjusting its voltage-reflection luminance characteristics. The liquid crystal display device of the present invention is a liquid crystal display device including: a pair of substrates; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, wherein the liquid crystal display device includes a transmission region and a reflection region, the reflection region includes a first section and a second section, a thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the first section is larger than half of but equal to or smaller than a thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the transmission region, and a thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the second section is larger than the thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the transmission region.

  • Patent number: 6013335
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus of the invention includes a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates with alignment films formed at interfaces between the liquid crystal layer and the respective substrates. The alignment films regulate aligning conditions of liquid crystal in the liquid crystal layer. In the liquid crystal display apparatus, the liquid crystal layer includes two or more liquid crystal layer regions of different aligning conditions, and at least one of the alignment films has surface tensions which are different from each other in surface regions thereof corresponding to the respective liquid crystal layer regions of different aligning conditions.

  • Patent number: 5691792
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus having a pair of substrates with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween is disclosed. Also, a method for producing the same and a substrate are disclosed. In the liquid crystal display apparatus, an aligning film is formed on at least one of the pair of substrates, the surface of the aligning film is made rough for controlling pretilt angles of liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer which are in contact with the surface of the aligning film, and the degrees of roughness are different among a plurality of prescribed regions.
