Abstract: A reformer that produces reformed gas from a hydrocarbon material includes a reforming chamber having an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder; a reforming catalyst filled in the reforming chamber; a burner that heats the reforming catalyst and fuel of reformed gas; a combustion gas outer flow channel through which combustion gas of the burner flows along an outer side surface of the reforming chamber; a combustion gas inner flow channel through which the combustion gas of the burner flows along an inner side surface of the reforming chamber; and a plurality of return pipes as a reformed gas flow channel.

Abstract: A reformer includes: a reformer container in which a reforming chamber having a substantially annular space filled with a reforming catalyst is defined; a heater disposed substantially on a center axis of the reformer container; and a circular portion having a plurality of double-pipe structures each of which includes: a feed pipe connected to a first axial end of the reformer container for feeding the material gas to a first axial end of the reforming chamber; and a return pipe substantially coaxially fitted into the feed pipe such that its first end penetrates the reforming chamber and opens in a vicinity of a second axial end within the reforming chamber so as to allow the reformate generated by reforming the material gas to flow thereunto. The reformer provides an efficient and stable reforming treatment with a simplified structure.

Abstract: A metal is attached on a passage-forming core by electrocasting to provide a primary metal layer. A plurality of grooves are formed on the primary metal layer and are filled with filler of low melting point. A metal is attached on the primary metal layer by electrocasting to provide a secondary metal layer. Openings are formed on the secondary metal layer adjacent to its opposite ends so as to communicate with the grooves. The filler in the grooves is melted to provide a plurality of coolant passages. The openings are filled with manifold-forming cores made of filler with low melting point. A metal is attached on the manifold-forming cores by electrocasting to provide tertiary metal layers. Through holes are formed on the tertiary metal layers. The passage-forming core is dissolved and the manifold-forming cores are melted to provide a gas passage and manifolds.
