Patent number: 7288922Abstract: A control apparatus for a vehicle generator includes a switch, a regulator, a fault condition detector, and a PWM signal generator. The switch is selectively turned on and off so as to intermittently excite the generator. The regulator controls on/off operation of the switch so as to bring an output of the generator into agreement with a target value. The fault condition detector detects a fault condition of the generator. The PWM signal generator generates and outputs a PWM signal that has a duty determined as a function of a duty of the on/off operation of the switch and a frequency determined based on if the fault condition of the generator is detected by the fault condition detector. Consequently, the control apparatus can inform an external control apparatus of the duty of the on/off operation of the switch and the fault condition of the generator with the single PWM signal.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2006Date of Patent: October 30, 2007Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Fuyuki Maehara, Kazuyuki Watanabe

Publication number: 20060196575Abstract: An overflow tube is provided at an oil pan and when the oil pan receives an amount of a working fluid exceeding a prescribed amount the overflow tube causes the fluid to overflow to allow the fluid to have a level set at a prescribed level. The overflow tube has an end portion positioned in the oil pan and defining an opening of a drain hole receiving and passing the fluid overflowing. The end portion has a curved surface facing vertically upward and extending to surround the opening of the drain hole, and curving in a direction in contact with a generally horizontal direction. Patent number: 7074158Abstract: A shift control apparatus of an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle to which torque is transmitted from an engine via a fluid coupling device is provided. In the automatic transmission including a plurality of hydraulically operated friction elements, a clutch-to-clutch downshift is carried out during coasting of the vehicle by releasing one of the friction elements and engaging another friction element. A controller of the shift control apparatus detects a difference between input and output rotation speeds of the fluid coupling device, and increases an engine speed by a controlled amount based on the difference between the input and output rotation speeds when the clutch-to-clutch downshift is carried out during coasting of the vehicle, so that the vehicle is brought into a minimal driving state in which the engine speed is slightly higher than the output rotation speed of the fluid coupling device.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2004Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuyuki Watanabe, Toshimitsu Sato, Atsushi Ayabe, Shinji Kato, Naoyuki Sakamoto, Hiromichi Kimura, Noboru Shibata, Mitsuhiro Nakamura, Hideaki Ogasawara

Publication number: 20060109565Abstract: A front lens group 1 and a rear lens group 2 having a diameter of about 5 mm held inside a cylindrical body 5 are capable of movement in the forward and backward directions via a front group movable body 3 and a rear group movable body 4, respectively. An image taking element such as a CCD is arranged at a prescribed position behind the cylindrical body. By setting the distance from each lens group to the CCD and the distance between both lens groups, an image is formed at a prescribed zoom on the CCD. From the 1× base state when the zoom magnification is made ?×??×??×, the positional relationship between the front lens group and the rear lens group becomes as shown in FIG. 1(b)˜(d). The two kinds of zoom magnification 1× and ?× can be switched by fixing the front lens group and moving only the rear lens group back and forth between positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2003Publication date: May 25, 2006Applicant: FDK CorporationInventors: Kazuyuki Watanabe, Haruhiro Komura, Shinya Yamauchi, Tetsutaka Yamamoto, Nobuyuki Sueyoshi, Masatoshi Kazimoto

Patent number: 6997837Abstract: In a shift control system of an automatic transmission for a vehicle, an engaging torque applied to a predetermined friction element that has been engaged to establish a predetermined gear stage of the automatic transmission during running of the vehicle is gradually decreased to generate a slip in the predetermined friction element. Based on the engagigng torque of the friction element and a command value output to generate the engaging torque to the friction element, a predetermined relationship used for determining the command value for generating a required engaging torque is corrected. Learning quality or accuracy with respect to the predetermined relationship between the engaging torque of the friction element and the control value for generating the engaging torque may be sufficiently ensured.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2004Date of Patent: February 14, 2006Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koji Oshima, Hiromichi Kimura, Kazuyuki Watanabe, Toshio Sugimura

Patent number: 6962552Abstract: A duty ratio for controlling an engagement force of a friction engagement device on the side of upshift engagement is corrected by an amount corresponding to an intermediate correction control value in the course of the shift. In addition, on a prerequisite condition that learning correction of a constant standby pressure control value at the start of the shift is converged, learning correction is performed for the intermediate correction control value according to a gradient of a turbine speed. Thus, a shift shock is prevented from occurring due to abrupt engagement of the friction engagement device and the like at the completion of the shift.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2002Date of Patent: November 8, 2005Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naoyuki Sakamoto, Kazuyuki Watanabe, Toshimitsu Sato, Atsushi Ayabe, Hiromichi Kimura, Hideaki Ogasawara, Noboru Shibata, Mitsuhiro Nakamura

Publication number: 20050192743Abstract: A navigation apparatus and arrival detection method detect a current location of a vehicle and searches for a route to a set destination. The apparatus and method provide guidance to the destination along the searched route and determine whether the destination is set within a car-free area. If it is determined that the destination is set within the car-free area, the apparatus and method expand an arrival detection area for the destination, and terminate the guidance to the destination when it is determined that the vehicle is within the expanded arrival detection area. Alternatively, even if the destination is not within a car-free area, after an engine of a vehicle is shut off and restarts, the navigation apparatus and method expand an arrival detection area for the destination, and terminate the guidance to the destination when the vehicle is within the expanded arrival detection area.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2005Publication date: September 1, 2005Applicant: AISIN AW CO., LTD.Inventors: Masanori Kikuchi, Takashi Kuno, Akiko Matsuo, Kazuyuki Watanabe, Mikio Shimadue
