  • Patent number: 7823497
Abstract: A countermass for use in a weapon to balance the forces arising when a launch able unit is launched from a launcher tube of the weapon. The countermass includes a first container enclosing a liquid. A countermass weapon includes a launcher tube open or openable in both ends. The launcher tube houses a launch able unit, a countermass including a first container enclosing a liquid, a pressure chamber, and a propellant charge that upon firing and combustion of the charge in cooperation with the pressure chamber and the countermass accelerates the launch able unit forwards in the tube at the same time as the countermass accelerates backwards in the tube. The first container is made of a non-rigid material. A second container is provided to cover or almost cover the first container. The second container is designed with damping characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7052276
Abstract: The invention relates to simulation of effects in a combat environment, wherein personnel, vehicles and buildings are exposed to simulated fire from military weapons. Direct fire and indirect fire are simulated by means of at least one of light rays and radio waves. Effects of attacking fire are registered by means of a target object device, which includes sensors adapted to detect the light rays respective the radio waves and are co-located with the target object (140). According to the invention the target object is associated to at least one protecting object located between the simulated fire and the target object if such object exists in the current combat situation. This enables a consideration to various protecting object— influence on the simulated fire and the effects on corresponding actual fire.

  • Patent number: 7013593
Abstract: The invention relates to a holder device configured for fastening to a substantially cylindrical body, such as a gun barrel, for the support of equipment such as a sight. The holder device comprises at least two holder elements, one holder element being configured for secure fixing to the cylindrical body and the other one being arranged such that it is movably coupled to the first-named holder element. According to the invention, the holder elements are arranged such that they are rotatable in relation to each other about a common axis between a first position, the transport position, and a second position, the activated position, and one of the holder elements is axially displaceable along the common axis from a position of equilibrium defined by a spring arrangement. The holder device reduces the transmission of axial recoil motions between the holder elements.

  • Patent number: 6192766
Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method for the detection of an analyte in air comprising an air sampling system (1) comprising a mouthpiece (10) and a fan, a first enrichment stage (11) for enrichment of the analyte comprising a thermally regulated adsorption/desorption filter (20) creating a non-laminar gas flow for adsorption of the analyte, a heat source for heating the filter to evaporate the analyte, a second enrichment stage (30) for the further enrichment of the gaseous analyte comprising a cold trap (32) for condensing the analyte, extraction of the condensed material with a solvent, and collecting the solution, and analyzing the collected liquid sample with an analytical detection system, are disclosed. Further, an adsoption/desorption filter creating a non-laminar gas flow comprising a winding (21) of a resistance wire coated with an active material electric heating of the wire, is described. A specific application is detection of a gaseous component of explosives or mines, e.g. TNT, in air.
