  • Publication number: 20080187170
Abstract: Disclosed is a display control device characterized by means 1 for converting a supplied video signal into a video signal having a higher frame rate, means 2 for displaying two or more frames as one group of the video signal having a higher frame rate converted in partial region of the screen for individual frames of the group, and designating non-display regions of the individual frames in the group so that the video image is displayed in an entire region of the screen by combining all the frames of the group, means 3 for masking the non-display region designated by the means 2 for individual frames of the video signal having a higher frame rate, and means 4 for driving a display means 6 and displaying the video image masked by the means 3. The display device is thus capable of preventing copyright protected video data from being copied by imaging the screen image of the video data at low cost.

  • Publication number: 20080074545
Abstract: A transmitting and receiving system includes a transmitting apparatus that delivers a main stream for performing a streaming broadcast and an auxiliary stream generated from the main stream and a receiving apparatus that receives the main stream and the auxiliary stream from the transmitting apparatus. The transmitting apparatus includes a main-stream storing unit, a bit-rate-reducing converting unit, an auxiliary-stream storing unit, and a delivery control unit. The receiving apparatus includes a main-stream-reception control unit, an auxiliary-stream-reception control unit, a data processing unit, and an inter-stream-error storing unit. When tuning operation by a user is received, the main-stream-reception control unit selects, from data of an auxiliary stream of a tuned broadcast, data at such a time that the auxiliary stream is possible to be switched to a main stream without shift of scenes when the auxiliary stream is switched to the main stream later and supplies the data to the data processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20070263725
Abstract: A video signal coding system for network transmission includes a video output apparatus and a signal conversion apparatus. The video output apparatus includes a decoding unit decoding an video signal encoded by a coding method using a motion vector and a superimposing unit superimposing reference control information containing at least a motion vector on a blanking period of the video signal, and outputs the video signal with the reference control information superimposed. The signal conversion apparatus includes a separating unit separating the reference control information from the blanking period, an encoding unit encoding the video signal by the coding method using the motion vector, and a motion vector converting unit converting the motion vector in the reference control information into a motion vector corresponding to the coding method in the encoding unit, and the encoding is performed using the converted motion vector.

  • Publication number: 20070211801
Abstract: A frame rate conversion system includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes a decoding unit decoding a compressed video signal encoded by an encoding method using a motion vector, and an encoding unit superimposing reference control information being output from the decoding unit and containing at least a motion vector on a blanking period of the video signal decoded by the decoding unit, and outputs the video signal with the reference control information superimposed thereon. The receiver includes a decoding unit separating the reference control information from the blanking period of the video signal input from the transmitter, and a frame rate converting unit generating an interpolated frame between frames of the input video signal using the reference control information separated by the decoding unit, and converting the input video signal into the signal of a higher frame rate.

  • Publication number: 20070139569
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device control system including a video display device and a remote control device. The remote control device includes: an operation section; a detection section that detects movement of the remote control device; and a transmission section that transmits a first signal for making notification of the detected movement and a second signal for making notification of an operation performed on the operation section. The video display device includes: a reception section; a first storage section that stores the first signal and a preparatory operation; a second storage section that stores the second signal and a process corresponding to the second signal; and a control section configured to, if the first signal is received, perform the preparatory operation corresponding to the first signal, and, if the second signal is received, perform the process corresponding to the second signal.
