  • Patent number: 8512479
Abstract: Provided is a method of cleaning the inside of a pressure vessel for blasting to enable a short-time treatment regardless of the state of residual substances. This method includes: a step of setting an explosive for cleaning, different from an explosive for blasting, in an amount necessary for decomposing a residue of the object inside of a pressure vessel after a blasting step of setting and blasting the object and the explosive for blasting in the pressure vessel; and a step of decomposing the residue by exploding the explosive for cleaning in the pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 5743787
Abstract: A method of polishing an end surface of an optical fiber comprises tilting the central axis of a ferrule integrated with an optical fiber at a preselected angle .THETA. to the axis of rotation of a flat polishing member. A foremost end of the ferrule is then moved into contact with a flat polishing member to polish the foremost end of the ferrule and an end surface of the optical fiber. The foremost end of the ferrule is moved out of contact with the flat polishing member after the ferrule and the optical fiber have been polished into a flat plane. The central axis of the ferrule is then tilted at the angle .THETA. to the axis of rotation of a platen and at an angle .theta.=.THETA.+.DELTA. to a line normal to the surface of the platen, where .DELTA. is an angle of tilt of the rotational platen relative to a flat support surface supporting the rotational platen. Thereafter, the foremost end of the ferrule is moved into contact with a second polishing machine to polish the ferrule and the optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 5667426
Abstract: A method of polishing the end face of a ferrule comprises providing an optical connector having the ferrule and an optical fiber fixed to the ferrule. An abrasive sheet film is provided which comprises a resin film having a layer of alumina type particles disposed on a surface thereof. The end face of the ferrule is polished by pressing it against the abrasive sheet film and sliding the end face of the ferrule relative the abrasive sheet film while supplying an abrasive comprised of colloidal particles of SiO.sub.2 on the surface of the abrasive sheet film.

  • Patent number: 4796036
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for use in printing systems wherein regions of rupturable capsule layer are ruptured to release dye that prints an image on an image-receiving sheet. An optical valve member is positioned between a light source and an imaging sheet which has the layer of capsules on its surface. An image pattern formed on a ferroelectric ceramic plate of the optical valve member by the irradiation of an electron beam together with an ultraviolet light in accordance with each color separation signal is projected onto the imaging sheet. The imaging sheet projected with the image is positioned so that the layer of capsules lies between the imaging sheet and the image-receiving sheet. A pressure roller applies pressure against the imaging sheet and the image-receiving sheet to rupture the capsules between them to thereby transfer the dye to the image-receiving sheet.

  • Patent number: 4748475
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for use in color printing systems wherein an image is projected by a plural monochrome pictures corresponding to the pictures separated into three primary colors onto an imaging sheet which contains a dye and a photosensitive composition encapsulated in a layer of pressure rupturable capsules. The imaging sheet projected the image is positioned so the layer of capsules lies between the imaging sheet and an image-receiving sheet. A pressure roller applies pressure against the imaging sheet and the image-receiving sheet to rupture the capsules between them and thereby transfer the dye to the image-receiving sheet.
