  • Patent number: 4689545
Abstract: A control apparatus for a battery charging generator for use in a vehicle in which a voltage regulator for regulating the output of the generator is controlled by a reference voltage generating unit in response to a signal representing acceleration (an operating state) for gradually changing the output voltage of the generator until the output voltage is below the battery terminal voltage so that the vehicle's engine runs smoother and changes of intensity in a lighting device included in the load occur gradually and are not visually noticeable.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 1986
Date of Patent: August 25, 1987
    Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Keiichi Komurasaki, Hifumi Wada, Shinji Nishimura
  • Patent number: 4686446
Abstract: A control apparatus for a vehicle alternating current generator comprising a switching device operable in response to the detection of an operating state temperature to control the field current of the generator independently of another switching device performing a field current control based on the output voltage of the generator, thereby to limit the output current of the generator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 6, 1986
Date of Patent: August 11, 1987
    Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Shinji Nishimura, Hifumi Wada, Keiichi Komurasaki
  • Patent number: 4680529
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a generator for a vehicle for limiting the output current of the generator by controlling the field current of the generator having an operating state detector for detecting the operating state of the vehicle, a reference clock generator, a modulator for modulating the reference clock pulses for generating reference clock pulses in response to the output of the operating state detector to sequentially vary the field current.

Date of Patent: July 14, 1987
    Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Keiichi Komurasaki, Shiro Iwatani, Shinji Nishimura
  • Patent number: 4651081
Abstract: A control apparatus for a vehicular charging generator utilizing various sensors which detect an unstable rotation during the starting of an engine, the acceleration/deceleration condition of the engine, an overload condition of the engine etc. to regulate the output voltage of the generator by a micro-computer, whereby the rotation of the engine is stabilized and the acceleration performance is enhanced due to a reduction of the load of the generator while and over-discharge of the battery is effectively compensated. Also, various abnormal conditions are detected by the sensors and indicated.

    Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Shinji Nishimura, Hifumi Wada, Keiichi Komurasaki
  • Patent number: 4476405
Abstract: A bearing cooling mechanism for a vehicular A.C. generator including a rotor having a rotary shaft rotatably mounted to a frame through two opposite bearings comprises a pulley and a cooling fan fixed in overlapped relationship on the rotary shaft at one end protruding from the adjacent bearing and, in addition to holes disposed on both end surfaces of the frame, four ventilating holes extending at equal angular intervals through those portions of the overlapped pulley and cooling fan adjacent to the rotary shaft.
