  • Patent number: 6087949
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing an accident or a fault of a device due to heat generation by calculating a temperature of a device expected after data transmission is finished to predict a temperature of the device is provided. In this method and apparatus, first, transmission data is applied, data transmission time and the expected device temperature when transmission is finished are calculated. And data transmission is started when the calculated temperature is lower than a set value and an alarm is generated for a user and transmission remains on standby when the calculated temperature is higher than the set value. Whether or not the data transmission is performed is selected with a user interface such as a display section and dial keys. When performing the data transmission is selected, a data transmission speed is decreased and the step of calculating the transmission time and the expected device temperature is repeated.

  • Patent number: 5930724
Abstract: A portable telephone of the present invention is provided with a portable telephone body and a flipper which is detachable from the body. The body is provided with a transmission and receiving section, a speaker section, and an transmission means for generating at least one of a warning signal for announcing that the flipper is disconnected from the portable telephone and a call signal when receiving a call-in. The flipper is provided with a microphone section and a receiving means for receiving warning signal and call-in signal. By structuring a portable telephone as described above, a user of this portable telephone can recognize a call-in and recognize theft or misplacing, as long as the user carries always the flipper. A stranger can not used this portable telephone using a wrong flipper because the portable telephone body operates only when a specified flipper is connected.

  • Patent number: 5717556
Abstract: In a printed-wiring board, first and second hard substrates each having electronic components mounted thereon are connected through a flexible substrate interposed therebetween. A circuit pattern printed on each of the hard and flexible substrates electrically connects the electronic components mounted on the hard substrates through the flexible substrate. The circuit pattern includes a plurality of parallel-connected signal lines. The parallel-connected signal lines are spatially separated on the flexible substrate, and the both ends of the parallel-connected signal lines are located in the hard substrates, respectively. A single signal line of the circuit pattern branches on one hard substrate into the parallel-connected signal lines, which extend through the flexible substrate and are converged to a single signal line on the other hard substrate.
