  • Patent number: 6777849
Abstract: In a rotary electric machine using a sintered oil-impregnated bearing, oil that oozes out from the sintered oil-impregnated bearing is prevented from attaching onto a brush. In a stay part providing a brush holder stay, there is formed a through hole into which the sintered oil-impregnated bearing is fitted. A pair of holder portions that each accommodate therein a brush are formed to diametrically face each other. A terminal-fixing portion is formed on one side of each holder portion. A prescribed gap exists between the one side position and the terminal-fixing portion. By closing the inner-radial end of the gap by an end wall, a first oil pool is formed. Thus, the first oil pool is structured as an oil pool on an oil path of any oozed oil flowing from the through hole toward the outer radial side of the holder portion to prevent the oil from entering the holder portion.

  • Patent number: 6380650
Abstract: An installation structure allows easy installation of vibration-proofing members in an electric motor, which avoid resonance due to vibration of an engine, without increasing the number of components. A bottom wall of an installation hole for receiving the electric motor is spaced from a bottom wall of a yoke. Also, flexible tabs are formed on the bottom wall of the yoke. In this arrangement, the electric motor is installed in the installation hole in a manner such that the flexible tabs are pressed into contact with a step portion arranged on the bottom wall of the installation hole.

  • Patent number: 6080293
Abstract: An electrolytic test machine is used for a corrosion resistance test for a test material comprised of a metal blank and a coating film. The electrolytic test machine is constructed so that an adverse influence, due to chlorine gas generated during a test, can be inhibited. The electrolytic test machine includes an electrolytic cell in which an aqueous solution of NaCl is stored so that a test material is immersed in the aqueous solution of NaCl. An electrode is immersed in the aqueous solution of NaCl. A DC power source supplies electric current between the electrode and the test material. A chlorine gas treating device collects chlorine gas which is generated with electrolysis of the aqueous solution of NaCl and which is released out of the aqueous solution of NaCl along with the aqueous solution of NaCl. The chlorine gas treating device includes a treating pipe line, a suction pump mounted on the treating pipe line, and a chlorine gas purifying member.

  • Patent number: 5980711
Abstract: An electrode is mounted in a vertical manner in an electrolytic liquid in an electrolytic cell. A harmful gas collecting hood is disposed within the electrolytic cell to cover the entire upper portion of the electrode. One end of a bottom surface of the hood lies at a higher location than the other end of the bottom surface of the hood. An inlet of a harmful gas treating pipe line is disposed in the vicinity of that portion of the bottom surface of the hood which lies at the higher location thereof. A harmful gas generated around the electrode is smoothly guided to the inlet by a guide effect of the hood and sucked into the inlet.

An electrode is immersed in the electrolytic liquid. A DC power source supplies a current between the test material and the electrode. A treating pipe line extends from the electrolytic cell to collect a harmful gas which is generated from the electrolytic liquid during supplying of a current and which is released out of the electrolytic liquid, along with the electrolytic liquid. A harmful gas purifying device is disposed in the treating pipe line. The harmful gas purifying device includes a catalyst for purifying the harmful gas, and a determining device for determining the replacement time of the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 5972198
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a corrosion resistance test process, wherein the estimation of the corrosion resistance of an article formed of a metal material and a coating can be carried out synthetically and in a short time. In carrying out a corrosion resistance test, the article is immersed into an electrolytic solution and then, a voltage is applied to the metal material to carry out a metal material corroding step and a coating peeling-off step alternatively and repeatedly. The voltage applied to the metal material is a superimposed voltage Vd+Va resulting from superimposition of a DC voltage Vd and an AC voltage Va. A voltage condition of Vd<0 and Vd+Va>0 is established at the metal material corroding step, while a voltage condition of Vd<0 and Vd+Va<0 is established at the coating peeling-off step.

  • Patent number: 5192184
Abstract: A fuel feed pump for a motor vehicle, wherein a liquid sealing portion is formed in a position close to an impeller in a casing, an exhaust port is opened in the intermediate portion of the liquid sealing portion in a manner to communicate the inner space of the liquid sealing portion with the outside of the casing. The casing is opened therein with a deairing hole for communicating the liquid sealing portion with the outside of the casing. A deairing groove is formed at least on the upper end surface of the casing. One end of the deairing groove is communicated with the upper space of a generally annular groove path and the other end is communicated with the deairing hole, traversing the liquid seal portion.
