  • Patent number: 6035624
Abstract: A fiber transporting apparatus for a rotor type open end fine spinning machine is provided that may reduce an amount of effective fiber discharged from a burling opening portion without degrading yarn quality of the spun yarn. Fiber opened by a combing roller (11) is fed into a rotor through a fiber transporting channel (13) leading from a circumferential surface of the combing roller (11) to a predetermined position of the rotor (6) in accordance with a negative pressure degree within the rotor (6). After debris is removed from the opened fiber by a burling opening portion (12), the opened fiber is moved together with an air flow directed from a downstream side of the burling opening portion (12) in a rotational direction of the combing roller (11) toward an inlet (13a) of the fiber transporting channel (13).

  • Patent number: 5544389
Abstract: A sliver piecing machine which can decrease the time of the sliver piecing work and which permits replacement of an empty can row by a full sliver can row between the work of cutting the spun sliver and the subsequent sliver piecing work. The sliver piecing machine is moved along traveling rails placed above the can rows. A housing of the sliver piecing machine has a sliver cutting device and a sliver piecing device which are respectively provided on the front and rear sides in the direction of movement of the sliver piecing machine along the traveling rails. The sliver piecing machine performs only the sliver cutting work in the forward movement thereof, and only the sliver piecing work in the backward movement. After the sliver cutting work, the empty can row is replaced by the full can row, and the sliver piecing work is then performed.

  • Patent number: 4987645
Abstract: A first sliver in an exhaust can (2F) is introduced and held in a recess (38a) of a sliver piecing unit (38) while gripped by a sliver gripper (34). The first sliver is severed by the displacement of the gripper (34) away from the recess (38a) so that a trailing end of the first sliver is formed in the recess (38a). Next, a second sliver in a reserve can (2B) is introduced and held in the recess (38a) in the same way as for the first sliver and a leading end of thereof is formed in the recess (38a) so that the sliver ends overlap each other. The piecing operation is carried out on the overlapped sliver ends in a known manner.

  • Patent number: 4435954
Abstract: In a fiber opening device in open-end spinning unit, having a combing roller which is encased by a casing and forming a fiber transferring passage between said combing roller and said casing, a wear-resistant member, preferably a member having a pin shape, is provided at an edge of an opening, e.g. a trash exit port opening formed in said casing and communicated with said passage. The structure of the fiber opening device according to the present invention makes possible easy installation of the wear-resistant member, and prevents harmful wear or bruising at said edge portion of the opening in the casing.

  • Patent number: 4426840
Abstract: An open-end spinning machine having a plurality of spinning units (5) arranged side by side in a row extending in the longitudinal direction of the spinning machine. Each of the spinning units (5) has a filter (11) disposed at the front surface thereof and extending for substantially the entire width thereof. All the filters (11) arranged on the spinning units (5) disposed at one side of the spinning machine lie on a substantially identical imaginary plane slightly upwardly inclined from a horizontal plane when seen from the front to the rear. Each spinning unit includes a duct means (13) having air passages (15, 23, 27, 31) extending from the openings (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d) located adjacent to the filter (11) to the upper surface of a feeding roller (25), the upper and lower surfaces of a combing roller (21), and the periphery of the combing roller (21).

  • Patent number: 4338777
Abstract: When an open end spinning machine is stopped, a fiber supply to a spinning rotor is first stopped and thereafter, substantially simultaneously with stoppage of both a yarn take-up roller and a yarn winding roller, a yarn end is held by a yarn holding device at a time when it still remains in a region which undergoes the suction effect of a subatmospheric pressure produced in the spinning rotor. The spinning rotor is subsequently stopped. On starting, the holding of the yarn end by the yarn holding device continues even after restarting of the spinning machine until the subatmospheric pressure produced in the spinning rotor reaches substantially the same value as that produced during a normal spinning operation. Therefore, there is prevented any snarling phenomenon, resulting in a greatly increased success rate in the operation of connecting yarn ends on re-starting of the spinning machine.

  • Patent number: 4314440
Abstract: An open-end spinning unit has a housing having a cylindrical space, with a complementary cylindrical fiber-opening roller disposed in that space which communicates with a dust removing chamber having a dust separating zone and a dust discharge promoting zone, said zones being connected together through an intermediate passage positioned on the downstream side of a dust removing opening communicating with said space, a wall portion of the casing defining a downstream side of the dust separating zone being comprized by an inclined wall which faces an end portion of a partition separating said zones, the partition having an end wall which is inclined with respect to the vertical direction at an angle equal to or smaller than an angle of inclination of the inclined wall.

  • Patent number: 4288975
Abstract: According to this invention, a spinning rotor is increased in speed until it reaches a predetermined higher speed beyond a lower speed region and then decreased in speed until it falls within the lower speed region, in which a yarn ending is effected. Thereafter, the speed of the spinning rotor is increased to a normal spinning speed beyond the predetermined higher speed. During rotation of the spinning rotor at the predetermined higher speed, sufficient subatmospheric pressure is produced in the spinning rotor to stretch out the yarn end thereby to prevent the yarn end from being snarled. Also, during this higher speed rotation of the spinning rotor, sufficient fibers in the spinning rotor can be collected in a maximum diameter portion in the spinning rotor to be connected with the snarl-free yarn end in a favorable condition.

  • Patent number: 4195788
Abstract: An apparatus for forming transfer tail windings on a bobbin includes a bobbin having an annular groove adjacent one end thereof which in the case of a tapered bobbin, would be located adjacent the larger diameter end. The annular groove is provided with a radially disposed wall and an inclined wall which is tapered outwardly from the radial wall toward the end of the bobbin. A spring-biased pivoted yarn regulator extends transversely across the path of the yarn from the spinning unit to the deepest portion of the annular groove on the bobbin and is provided with a yarn guide portion opposite the inclined surface of the annular groove. A centering disc engages the end of the bobbin adjacent the annular groove and is provided with a plurality of yarn engaging notches spaced about the circumference thereof. The yarn from the spinning unit is directed over the yarn guide portion of the yarn regulator around the bottom of the annular groove and over the top of the annular groove back toward the yarn regulator.
