  • Patent number: 8162380
Abstract: An aerodynamic device for a vehicle that can effectively adjust airflow within a wheel house is obtained. A fixed aerodynamic stabilizer device 10 is formed at a vehicle body longitudinal direction rear side of a rotational axis of a front wheel 15 within a wheel house 16, as a step having an airflow collision groove wall that faces downward in a vehicle body vertical direction. This fixed aerodynamic stabilizer device 10 suppresses flowing-in, into the wheel house 16, of airflow F that is generated accompanying the front wheel 15 rotating in a direction of arrow R.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 28, 2006
Date of Patent: April 24, 2012
    Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Keiji Sumitani, Hiroyuki Nakaya, Toshiyuki Murayama, Eishi Takeuchi, Kazunori Oda

  • Patent number: 6213543
Abstract: The present invention relates to a deflector protruding upward from an edge portion located before an opening of a sunroof provided in a roof of an automobile. The deflector is provided with a guide face which is altogether smoothly curved upward in a convex shape and which has a maximum height at a center thereof in a fore-aft direction of the automobile.

  • Patent number: 4917434
Abstract: A construction of side corner portions of a motor vehicle, wherein air blow-out openings are respectively formed on right and left side corner portions at least either on a front portion or on a rear quarter portion of the motor vehicle, and, when crosswind is received during running of the motor vehicle, air is blown out through the air blow-out opening of the side corner on the leeward side, whereby air stream generated along the side corner on the leeward side is separated from the surface of a vehicle body, so that negative pressure is not generated on the side corner on the leeward side, thus decreasing the yawing moment applied to the motor vehicle.
