Abstract: An external data detecting portion transmits, when detecting external data such as an incoming call, an incoming detected signal to a load estimating portion. The load estimating portion estimates, when receiving the external data incoming detected signal, a level of a load applied to display of the plurality of video images of a display apparatus by the processing related to the external data. A video image display control portion determines display quality of the video image according to the load level estimated by the load estimating portion to control a video image displayed on a video image display portion. The video image display portion displays a plurality of video images with video image quality controlled by the video image display control portion.

Provided is a time-series data recording device for recording time-series data, which includes, a control unit having first characteristic detecting means for detecting a first characteristic to be a candidate for a record starting time point of the time-series data, a temporary storage unit for storing information concerning a first time point representing occurrence of the first characteristic, and second characteristic detecting means for detecting a second characteristic to determine record starting of the time-series data, a first recording unit for recording the time-series data after a second time point representing detection of the second characteristic, and a second recording unit for recording the time-series data between the first time point and the second time point.

Abstract: An advertisement distributing system, advertisement distributing server, and advertisement distributing method, program and recording medium are provided for encouraging the users to buy a product in such a manner that the most suitable program video scene is selected in accordance with the advertisement distributed by an advertiser, and distributed to the users with the advertisement. An advertising video searching unit of a server, based on an advertisement ID received from a first terminal device, searches through advertisement video, extracts a video ID corresponding to the advertisement ID and outputs it to a viewing history searching unit. A viewing history searching unit determines whether the video ID has been stored in viewing history that reflects user's taste, and outputs the corresponding video ID if it is found, to a content synthesizer. The content synthesizer distributes the advertisement data and video data to the first terminal device.

Abstract: An information navigation apparatus monitors a user's preferential tendencies among huge amounts of digital content using as objective a criterion as possible, and displays content information that would facilitate the user's content selection based on the monitored data. The apparatus is capable of accommodating the user's modification of his or her preferential tendencies on the spot. The information navigation apparatus comprises a content selection history memory unit for storing a user's content selection history, a content information database for storing content information about digital content, a preference analysis unit for analyzing the user's preferences based on said content information and said user's content selection history, and display means for displaying the result of analysis of the user's preferences by said preference analysis unit.

Abstract: A speech and moving image search apparatus includes an input section for inputting a command and a label information storage device for storing label information. A label attribute storage device is further included for storing label attributes, as well as a broader term storage device for storing broader terms of labels. A first search section extracts information on the data from the label information storage device. A database is also included for storing speech and moving images. A control section thereafter accesses desired data in the database based on the information extracted by the first search section. Finally, an output section is included for outputting the data.
