  • Publication number: 20060188563
Abstract: A medicinal oral preparation to be delivered to the large intestine comprising a core containing a pharmacologically active ingredient, an inner layer containing one or more cationic polymers and an outer layer containing one or more anionic polymers whereby the core is coated, which is designed so that, in a disintegration test successively consisting of a vertical movement for 2 hours in a first solution of pH 1.2, a vertical movement for 2 hours in a second solution of pH 7.4 and a vertical movement in a third solution of pH 6.4, the average disintegration initiation point and the average disintegration completion point each falls within a period from 35 minutes to 130 minutes after starting the vertical movement in the third solution.

  • Publication number: 20030148929
Abstract: A novel nucleic acid carrier and a pharmaceutical composition for gene therapy are disclosed. The nucleic acid carrier of this invention is characterized by containing a polypeptide comprising diaminobutyric acid with a suitable number of residues and/or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The nucleic acid carrier of this invention can form a complex with a variety of therapeutic genes that is safe and has extremely low immunogenicity (the pharmaceutical composition of this invention); and it can allow the therapeutic gene to be introduced into cells efficiently and safely whereby high expression of the gene in the cells can be realized.

  • Publication number: 20020016304
Abstract: A carrier for stabilizing a nucleic acid is provided which forms a soluble, stable complex with a nucleic acid, which has a stabilizing effect on a double or triple helix of a nucleic acid, which suppresses the structural change of a nucleic acid, and which enables the reversibility of a nucleic acid to be retained. A method for stabilizing a nucleic acid by use of such a carrier is also provided. This carrier is a polymer having a poly(cationic amino acid) as a main chain, and a comb-shaped hydrophilic group as a side chain modifying the polymer.
