A media alignment detection system is positioned down-web from the media print zone generates a signal indicative of the alignment of the web of print media along the transverse direction. A transverse adjustment mechanism positioned up-web from the media print zone, the transverse adjustment mechanism is configured to enable the adjustment of the transverse position of the web of print media based upon the signal.

Abstract: Apparatus and techniques for performing JTAG testing on production devices and systems through industry standard interfaces. The devices employ processors configured to receive packetized test input data from a tester over a standard communication interface such as a USB or Ethernet port and perform associated testing operations defined by the test input data, such as JTAG-compliant testing. This is facilitated, in part, via use of a bridge and one or more DFx handlers, with the bridge operating as an interface between the DFx handlers and a bus and/or interconnect over which test input and result data is transferred via the standard communication interface. The techniques enable testing such as JTAG testing to be performed on fully-assembled devices and systems without requiring the use of dedicated test or debug ports.

Abstract: A micrometer drive configuration for a handheld micrometer comprises: a frame; a spindle; a linear displacement sensor that senses a displacement of the spindle; a threaded spindle drive having a relatively coarse thread pitch, wherein the threaded spindle drive is attached to a spindle drive gear; a planetary drive gear that mates to the spindle drive gear; a ring gear surrounding and mating to the planetary drive gear; and a thimble generally surrounding the spindle drive gear, the planetary drive gear, and the ring gear. The thimble is coupled to drive the spindle drive gear through the planetary drive gear, and the planetary drive gear is sized and mounted such that the spindle drive gear turns faster than the thimble.

Abstract: Methods of inhibiting ischemia-related and ischemia-reperfusion-related injury are provided. Remote administration of a C-fiber activator or TRPV1 agonist or remote electrical stimulation and activation of TRPV1 reduces ischemia-related tissue damage in subjects at risk for ischemia-related tissue damage. In aspects of the invention, remote application of a TRPV1 agonist inhibits ischemia-related cardiac tissue damage. Methods of inhibiting cardiac tissue damage by topically administering the TRPV1 agonist, capsaicin are provided.

Abstract: A system for a housing lottery comprising at least one property, such as a foreclosure, to be sold through the housing lottery. A lottery management authority manages the housing lottery. Accordingly, properties are listed therewith for inclusion in the lottery. The system also includes at least one lottery ticket priced according to the property for which it corresponds or to financial obligations tied to that property, and at least one participant who purchases one or more lottery tickets for one or more different properties. The lottery management authority conducts at least one drawing for each property, and distributes the proceeds of the lottery ticket sales to satisfy financial obligations such as outstanding liens including mortgages or loans, taxes, insurance, commission, down payment to the displaced homeowner, and profits to the local municipality to spur the economy. Abstract: A fall arrest device comprising a body having a rope guide path therethrough defined between a cam and a cooperating abutment. The cam is pivotally mounted on the body about a pivot axis extending perpendicular to the rope guide path. The device is provided with an attachment means for attaching the device to a harness, a rope jamming portion of the cam being arranged to be urged towards the abutment to a rope jamming position to arrest movement of the rope through the rope guide path under the action of a load applied to the attachment means. A rope engaging surface of the rope guide path remote from said rope jamming portion of the cam is adapted to grip the rope when the rope acts thereagainst by virtue of a downward load applied to the attachment means.
