Publication number: 20130063026Abstract: Disclosed is a towed vehicle electrical connector that operably routes onboard battery power within the vehicle to exterior lighting when disconnected from a towing vehicle and when ambient light conditions drop below a given threshold. The device comprises an electrical module connectable to a trailer lead vehicle electrical connector, wherein the module includes an electrical circuit to route onboard battery power into a relay and through the exterior lights and to ground. The relay is controlled by a light sensitive switch, which monitors ambient light and allows the battery to energize the trailer exterior lights. The device provides a trailer user with a twilight lighting system, which illuminates an area about the vehicle for increased security and low light visibility.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2012Publication date: March 14, 2013Inventor: Keith Stickley

Patent number: 6038718Abstract: A surgical table including a control system for facilitating manipulation of the table top when a patient is a normal and a reversed position. The table includes moveable table top sections whereby the table may be reconfigured from a normal configuration for receiving a patient with the patient's head at a head end of the table to a reversed configuration with the patient's head located at the foot end of the table. The controller is adapted to sense the configuration of the table and automatically reverse selectable functions for movement of the table when the table is in the reverse configuration.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1994Date of Patent: March 21, 2000Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventors: Donald R. Pennington, Keith A. Stickley, Cyril F. Reesby

Patent number: 6023800Abstract: A removable accessory for use with a surgical table top having a generally planar top surface for supporting a patient. The accessory may be in the form of a detachable siderail which may be clamped onto the side edge of a surgical table top. The removable accessory includes an elongated clamp body defined by a C-shaped channel member having top and bottom legs connected by a connector portion. A clamp bar is supported on the bottom leg and is moved into engagement with a bottom surface of the surgical table top to thereby cause the accessory to be clamped to the table top. The table top is provided with a ridge along an upper edge thereof for positioning within a recess in the top leg of the clamp body for preventing the accessory from slipping off the edge of the table top.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1997Date of Patent: February 15, 2000Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventor: Keith A. Patent number: 5754997Abstract: A covered cushion is provided for continuously supporting a patient over gaps which occur between adjacent sections of a surgical table. The cushion is formed with a soft foam upper layer and a flexible lower layer which is sufficiently rigid to form a support for continuously supporting the weight of a patient across a gap located between adjacent sections of the surgical table. The lower layer is formed from an x-ray transparent sheet of material such as polypropylene, with a thickness of approximately 2 mm such that the polypropylene layer is flexible while also sufficiently rigid to form a bridge supporting a patient across the gap in the surgical table. The upper layer and lower layer are surrounded by an outer cover formed of an upholstery material, such as vinyl.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 1996Date of Patent: May 26, 1998Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventors: Andre R. Lussi, Donald R. Pennington, Keith A. Stickley, Cyril F. Reesby

Patent number: 5655238Abstract: A surgery table including a table top attachment providing for extreme angular positioning of a patient. The surgery table includes a base supporting a support column, and an articulated patient support portion pivotally attached to an upper end of the column. The table top attachment is attached to an articulated section of the table for movement with the articulated section whereby the attachment may be positioned at an extreme reverse Trendelenburg position. When the attachment is detached from the surgery table, the surgery table may be used in a conventional manner to position a patient in a plurality of articulated positions.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1996Date of Patent: August 12, 1997Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventors: Keith A. Stickley, James A. Schaefer

Patent number: 5628078Abstract: A side extender assembly for providing additional width to a surgical table. The side extender assembly includes an extender frame having at least one support leg integral therewith. The support leg includes a recess for receiving a side rail of the surgical table, and a tang defining an upper portion of the recess which extends over and behind the side rail in a mounted position. A stud is threadably engaged with the support leg for engaging a lower edge of the side rail to wedge the support leg into firm engagement with the side rail in the mounted position. A thumb screw is threadably engaged with the support leg for contacting the table frame to counteract a moment force applied against the side extender assembly by a patient. The extender frame includes an x-ray passage for permitting an x-ray panel to be inserted through the side extender assembly to a location within a frame of the surgical table.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1995Date of Patent: May 13, 1997Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventors: Donald R. Pennington, Keith A. Stickley

Patent number: 5564662Abstract: A floor lock system for supporting a surgery table having a patient support surface supported by a base member and defining a longitudinal axis. The system includes first and second primary lock members located on laterally opposite sides of the longitudinal axis for the base member. A third primary lock member is located generally along the longitudinal axis and the first and second secondary lock members are located on laterally opposite sides of the longitudinal axis. The primary lock members are actuated by first actuators for movement toward a floor surface with a first force and the secondary lock members are actuated by second actuators for movement toward the floor surface with a second force less than the first force.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1994Date of Patent: October 15, 1996Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventors: Andre R. Lussi, Keith A. Stickley

Patent number: 5208928Abstract: A surgery table is provided in which a patient support portion may be tilted about a longitudinal and a lateral axis and in which torso and leg supporting portions of the table may be pivoted relative to a trunk supporting portion. A new headrest locking mechanism is disclosed whereby supporting ball and socket connections for the headrest may be locked in position with a minimum of applied torque force. In addition, a lift mechanism incorporating telescoping members is provided whereby a large variation in table height may be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1991Date of Patent: May 11, 1993Assignee: Midmark CorporationInventors: Jay L. Kuck, Keith A. Stickley, Terry J. Simpkins, Sr., Terry J. Simpkins, Jr.

Patent number: 4505279Abstract: An axial flow combine harvester is disclosed wherein the threshing rotors are provided with segmented rasp bars staggered around the circumference of the rotors and spiralled with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotors. Each rasp bar segment is circumferentially offset approximately 60 degrees relative to each other to spread the threshing forces around the circumference of the threshing rotor, minimizing variations in threshing forces and increasing the life of related components.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1983Date of Patent: March 19, 1985Assignee: Sperry CorporationInventors: Steven J.
