  • Patent number: 6687374
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for selectively coupling the signals of multiple communications service providers operating in different frequency bands onto one or more station wire segments of a customer premises wiring plant are disclosed herein. The apparatus can include various filtering networks and switching modules to enable each station wire segment of the premises wiring to be concurrently and independently connected to differing service providers.

Inventors: Ileana A. Leuca, Keith C Nichols
  • Publication number: 20030115345
Abstract: One method described includes the steps of monitoring, at a wireless transceiver unit, communications involving address assignment between a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server and one or more computer devices; storing, at the wireless transceiver unit, at least one computer device identifier corresponding to at least one computer device that was assigned an address by the DHCP server; receiving, at the wireless transceiver unit, traffic from a first computer device of the one or more computer devices; identifying, at the wireless transceiver using the at least one computer device identifier, that the first computer device is one that was assigned an address by the DHCP server; transmitting, from the wireless transceiver unit over a wireless communication link, traffic from the first computer device based on identifying that it was assigned an address by the DHCP server; receiving, at the wireless transceiver unit, traffic from a second computer device of the one or more computer devices; failin

  • Publication number: 20020186836
Abstract: An interface device and method for selectively coupling the signals of a plurality of communications service providers operating in different frequency bands onto one or more station wire segments of a customer premises wiring plant. The device includes a plurality of service access modules, each of the service access modules comprising a filter network including at least one of a high-pass or bandpass filter, and a low-pass filter connected to a respective communications service provider's signal. A high-band switching module and a low-band switching module are connected to each service access module. At least one station access module is connected to the high-band switching module and the low-band switching module. The station access module includes a filter network comprising at least one of a high-pass or band-pass filter, and a low-pass filter corresponding in pass-bands to the service access module filter network.
