  • Patent number: 8066061
Abstract: A reusable metal seal for a wellhead provides a metal-to-metal seal and includes upper and lower tapered sealing flanks which may be deflected by tapered wall surfaces on the wellhead engaging the taper sealing flanks, and the seal may have a plurality of annular relief grooves.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 2009
Date of Patent: November 29, 2011
    Assignee: Stream-Flo Industries Ltd.

  • Patent number: 6637509
Abstract: A stuffing box support assembly is configured to be positioned between a production pumping tree and a stuffing box of a wellhead. In use, the support assembly functions like a joint between the wellhead production tree and the stuffing box. The support assembly is configured such that it could tilt or move laterally to maintain a coaxial relationship between the stuffing box and a polished rod extending therethrough. This alignment between the stuffing box and the polished rod reduces wear and tear of the stuffing box packing.

  • Patent number: 6457530
Abstract: A monolithic pumping tree combining a bottom connection, production blow-out preventer section, flow tee section and top connection is cast so as to provide an access port extending downwardly through the side wall of the tree from its outer surface, to connect with either the central vertical bore of the tree or its horizontal bottom surface, thereby enabling coiled tubing to be inserted either into the tubing string bore or into the annulus between the tubing and production casing strings.

  • Patent number: 6260817
Abstract: In the hydraulic blowout preventer of an integral production wellhead, the ram chambers and hydraulic fluid supply line are both buried or formed in the side wall of the blowout preventer.

  • Patent number: 6176466
Abstract: A unitary pumping tree is provided for forming part of a wellhead assembly christmas tree. The tree integrates a bottom connector, shut-off valve, hydraulically actuated blow-out preventer, mechanically actuated blow-out preventer, flow tee and top connector, within a body formed as a single piece of steel.

  • Patent number: 5921276
Abstract: An axial recess is formed in the downstream end of the diffuser body. An annular tail member is mounted on the downstream end of the valve piston. The tail member retracts into the recess when the piston is in the closed position and provides an extension of the diffuser body when the piston is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 5765813
Abstract: The rubber layer on the ram is reinforced at the sealing areas by forming ribs on the ram core. The ribs function to resist extrusion of the rubber layer when the blowout preventer is subjected to high pressure from the well.

  • Patent number: 5743332
Abstract: The adapter, blow-out preventer housing and flow tee of an oilwell wellhead assembly are formed together as a one-piece or integral structure. The structure has a bottom flanged connection and a top studded and internally threaded connection. By eliminating threaded connections and the adapter body, the length of the combined assembly is reduced by about 50% and structural strength is improved.
