  • Publication number: 20220089463
Abstract: A method of in-situ treatment of a body of water comprising at least one contaminant includes adding a blended water treatment substance to the body of water. The blended water treatment substance includes at least one geopolymer and at least one cationic biopolymer. The at least one contaminant is adsorbed from the contaminated water onto the geopolymer. The at least one geopolymer upon which the at least one contaminant is adsorbed is coagulated with the at least one cationic biopolymer. The coagulated at least one geopolymer, at least one biopolymer, and at least one contaminant is precipitated to settle within the water body.

  • Patent number: 10865024
Abstract: A bottle for adaptive reuse includes a bottle body defining an open interior configured to hold a substance therein. A chamber is formed into the bottle body at least in part by a wall between the open interior and the chamber. The chamber is selectively isolated from the open interior of the bottle. A sealing plate at least partially defines the chamber and an outer surface of the bottle. A threaded structure secures the sealing plate to the bottle body.

  • Publication number: 20180343847
Abstract: A method for exterminating a target on a host using ultraviolet (UVC) light. The method includes providing a device configured for emitting UVC light for exterminating the target, selecting a host type from a plurality of host types for the target to be exterminated from, and selecting a target type from a plurality of target types for the target to be exterminated. The method further includes assigning an intensity and an exposure time of UVC light to exterminate the target, wherein the intensity and the exposure time are based at least in part on the host type selected and the target type selected, and wherein the intensity and exposure time together define an extermination program. The method further includes controlling the device to emit UVC light to exterminate the target according to the extermination program.

  • Publication number: 20170203986
Abstract: Systems for water treatment include a preprocessing stage, an ultraviolet treatment stage, and a filtering stage. The preprocessing stage includes first and second chambers including first and second filter media. The first and second chambers include perforated plates. The first chamber and second chamber are vertically arranged in a filter tower. The ultraviolet treatment stage receives water in a plurality of reactor tanks. Each reactor tank of the plurality includes an inlet, an outlet, crystal sleeve disposed centrally to the interior of the reactor tank, and a UVC light source contained within the crystal sleeve. A controller operates the ultraviolet treatment stage to sequentially fill each reactor tank and sequentially drain each reactor tank and operates a respective UVC light source to emit UVC wavelength radiation within a respective reactor tank while water is in the respective reactor tank.

  • Publication number: 20130075312
Abstract: A water purifier includes an outer shell that at least partially defines an open interior. At least one UVC light emitting diode is at least partially disposed within the open interior. A controller is disposed within the open interior and communicatively connected to the at least one UVC light emitting diode. The controller operates the UVC light emitting diode to emit UVC band electromagnetic energization for a predetermined time period to kill microorganisms found in water about the water purifier.
