  • Publication number: 20230381098
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device is taken orally by a patient, and then activates within the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the patient. Upon activation, resilient arms within the drug delivery device expand and engage the GI tract walls. A driver then drives a plunger within the drug delivery device, pushing a drug through a channel in the resilient arms and through the GI tract walls of the patient. After a period of time, at least a portion of the drug delivery device dissolves and the drug delivery device passes through the GI tract.

  • Publication number: 20220379002
Abstract: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems, apparatuses, and methods for operating the systems and apparatuses are disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a negative pressure source, a connector port, at least one switch, and a controller. The negative pressure source is connected through the connector port to either (i) a wound dressing having a canister configured to store fluid aspirated from the wound or (ii) a wound dressing without a canister between the connector port and the wound dressing. The controller determines, based on a signal received from the at least one switch, whether the canister is positioned in the fluid flow path and adjusts one or more operational parameters of negative pressure wound therapy based on the determination. The switch is activated by the connection of either the canister or canisterless wound dressing to the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11338089
Abstract: An injection device comprising a housing (12) and a dose selector (16) to set a dose of medicament to be ejected from the injection device. A spring (20) coupled to the dose selector stores energy necessary for ejecting the dose from the injection device. A ratchet (25) arrangement is provided to rotationally couple a ratchet component and an internal surface of the housing in a coupled state and to allow relative rotation between the ratchet component and the internal surface of the housing in an uncoupled state. An over-torque feature (27) located between the dose selector and the spring is actuatable, when the rotation of the dose selector causes the charging force to exceed a defined limit, to reduce the charging force transferred from the dose selector to the spring. Both the ratchet component and the over-torque feature are provided on a single component (28).

  • Patent number: 11278676
Abstract: An injection device comprising a housing having a longitudinal axis, a dose selector (16) capable of being rotated about said longitudinal axis with respect to said housing by a user to set a dose of medicament to be ejected from the injection device and a spring (20) capable of storing energy necessary for ejecting the dose of medicament from the injection device. The spring is coupled to the dose selector such that a charging force can be transferred from the dose selector to the spring to increase the energy stored by the spring. The injection device further comprises a ratchet arrangement (25) moveable between an engaged state in which the spring is limited from unwinding from a currently selected dose and a disengaged state in which the spring is able to unwind and a drive assembly including a plunger element (23) capable of providing an axial force for ejecting a dose of medicament from the injection device.

  • Patent number: 10252230
Abstract: A tinting machine (1) comprising one or more dispenser heads for dispensing colorant into a paint container (3), the one or more dispenser heads comprising a fluid outlet (16) for discharging the colorant into the paint container (3), an internal chamber (19) opening in the fluid outlet, and a piston (25) that is longitudinally and movably arranged inside the internal chamber. An outer side surface of the piston and the inner surface of the internal chamber define an annular space (29) and the piston comprises a circumventional protrusion (26) defining a constriction (28) in the annular space. By supplying cleaning fluid to the internal chamber and moving the piston between a first and a second position, the internal chamber can be cleaned from residual colorant with a small amount of cleaning fluid. The invention further relates to a method for dispensing one or more colorants into a paint container using such tinting machine.

  • Patent number: 6712308
Abstract: A chuck is mounted on a drive shaft and torque can be transferred to an inner ring (30) of the chuck from the drive shaft. A casing (28) of the chuck surrounds the inner ring and supports four circumferentially-spaced cam elements (40) for gripping and supporting the core. Each cam element comprises a cam pivotably mounted on the housing and operated by a cam roller (58) mounted on the inner ring. Relative rotation of the inner ring and the casing causes the cam roller to move along a cam surface on the underside of its cam and to raise either end of the cam to engage the core. A switching element (80) is housed in a chamber in the casing between each pair of cam elements. Each switching element comprises a detent spring (90) having a central detent and being captive within the chamber (82), and a detent roller (88) mounted on the inner ring.

  • Publication number: 20030146334
Abstract: A running web of sheet material (2) is wound onto a roll (8). An empty core (30) is arranged at a transfer position to receive the web when the roll (8) is completed. A wrap roller (20) is moved so as to draw the web upstream of the core (30) around a portion of the circumference of the core. A head assembly (40) of a cross-cut mechanism then advances, wrapping the web upstream of the core (30) around the core. A spring loaded blade (52) is then advanced so as to cut the web and to force the end of the web into the inrunning nip between the wrap roller and the core. The head assembly and the wrap roller are then withdrawn to their standby positions and the core (30) moved from the transfer position to a running position while the completed roll (8) is unloaded.
