  • Patent number: 11590299
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring the status and usage of a metered dose inhaler (MDI) and communicating status, usage, and guidance information to a user of the MDI and to a mobile computing device are presented herein. An IMD includes a dosage dispense detection device, an accelerometer, and a visual transducer, an audio transducer, a haptic transducer, or any combination thereof. The dosage dispense detection device detects when a user applies a compressive force across the IMD. The accelerometer measures a shaking of the IMD by a user before self-administering a dose. The IMD determines whether the medicine is adequately shaken by the user, and if so, communicates an indication to the user that the pressurized canister of medicine is ready for dosage. In another aspect, the IMD communicates a sequence of indications that mark each transition of a dosage regimen plan to self-administer a dosage of medicine.

  • Publication number: 20190316999
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to enabling a user to (1) determine the radial stiffness of the outer surface of a winding or wound roll, and (2) when coupled with a winding/contact model results in a virtual instrument allowing the user to explore the residual stresses due to winding in roll-to-roll manufacturing process machines, and (3) allows the user to predict winding defects and hence roll quality based upon the known residual stresses. Wound roll models require the input of a radial modulus of elasticity which is state dependent on interlayer pressure. The hardware of the disclosure can be used to determine this radial modulus and serves to enable the user to (1) use winding/contact models and (2) with measurements made during or after winding enable the user to estimate the winding residual stresses.

  • Patent number: 7090014
Abstract: Steam assisted gravity drainage (“SAGD”) is practised in a first section of a reservoir containing heavy oil. When steam/oil ratio rises sufficiently, steam injection into the first section is curtailed or terminated. Non-condensible gas is then injected into the section to pressurize it and production of residual oil and steam condensate is continued. Concurrently with pressurization, SAGD is practised in an adjacent reservoir section. As a result, some of the residual oil in the first section is recovered and steam loss from the second section to the first section is ameliorated.
