  • Patent number: 9878896
Abstract: A meter for measuring the flow rate of fuel in a fuel dispenser comprises a housing with an axial bore extending therethrough and defining an inlet and an outlet. A flow indicating mechanism comprising one or more rotatable components are mounted in the axial bore of the housing and configured to rotate as fuel flows from the inlet to the outlet, wherein each rotation indicates fuel flow. A pulse generating device senses rotation of the rotatable components and generates an output signal indicative of the fuel flow. Finally, a vapor generating device is configured to generate vapor bubbles that flow through the flow indicating mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20160092381
Abstract: A first state of an interconnect protocol is entered. A particular signal is sent according to the protocol to a device over a link. During the first state, it is detected that a response to the particular signal is received in the first state. It is determined that the device supports a configuration mode outside the protocol based on the received response. The configuration mode is entered based on the response. One or more in-band configuration messages are sent within the configuration mode.

  • Publication number: 20160008305
Abstract: Described herein are inventions directed to methods of treating a diastolic cardiac dysfunction and the symptoms thereof in a subject that includes administering an amount of a TRPV2 receptor agonist effective to treat the diastolic cardiac dysfunction. The TRPV2 receptor agonist may be administered in at least one of an injection, orally, or transdermally. The amount of TRPV2 receptor agonist is sufficient to result in an improved performance on quantitative diagnostic criteria. In an embodiment, the TRPV2 receptor agonist is administered over a period of about 8 hours to about 24 hours. The TRPV2 receptor agonist may be used for short term treatments, i.e., less than a week, or it may be administered in a long term manner, i.e., over a period of weeks, months, or even years. Exemplary TRPV2 receptor agonists include probenecid, 2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate, cannabinol, cannabidiol, and combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 9226078
Abstract: Acoustic transducers may, in certain aspects, include a curved diaphragm and an actuator coupled to the curved diaphragm to cause movement of the curved diaphragm. In certain embodiments, the curved diaphragm has at least one free edge. The left and right edges of the curved diaphragm may be associated with auxiliary supports. The acoustic transducer can be a multi-pole loudspeaker wherein a curved diaphragm radiates the sound energy in a modified dipole pattern. The curvature of the radiating surface of the transducer reduces sound cancellation from sound energy reflected by nearby surfaces.

  • Patent number: 9217242
Abstract: Fire hydrants each have a band of lamps strapped around them, the lamps powered by a solar collector battery circuit. An RF signal is transmitted to a receiver in the circuit by a remote responder causing the lamps to light up with a coded color related to the water flow rating of each of the hydrants and with a blink rate related to the water pressure of each of the hydrants. Upon arriving at the fire scene responders are able to select an appropriate hydrant for the location and size of the fire. The circuit is able to transmit flow and pressure information to the responders which information is presented on a display screen for early reconnaissance of the water resources at the fire scene.
