Abstract: A wall-mounted medical apparatus includes a dispenser configured to be actuated to dispense one or more of a soap and a sanitizer. One or more motion sensors detect the motion of a person entering into a patient room, and a controller determines whether actuation of the dispenser occurs within a predetermined time following the detected motion of a person entering into the room. If the actuation is determined not to have occurred within the predetermined period of time, then an alarm is activated.

A housing defines a cavity which has a surrounding wall closed by opposing end walls, the pump being seated within the cavity. A reservoir is closed at one end and has a shape in conformity with the housing to telescope thereover in covering relationship. Defined in one end of the reservoir is a valve seat which cooperates with a valve that closes during removal of the reservoir from the housing. On that end of the reservoir also is a coupling element which cooperates with a coupling member disposed in the surrounding wall of the housing. When that coupling relationship is established, the reservoir is seated on top of a side surface of the housing which, in turn, is lying on a table or the like. An outlet in the housing communicates with the hand-held tip and the pump is connected between that outlet and the coupling member.

Abstract: To be situated between a mattress and a box spring is a hinged frame that includes inflatable bags located respectively beneath the head and foot portions of the mattress. A controlled pump unit permits selective inflating of the bags so as individually to elevate the different portions of the mattress at the command of a user. Construction features of one version include internal contour-defining elements tied between space-opposed supports affixed to the walls of the bags and double-plate supports readily mounted into the bags and which enable tying of the bags to the frame. Another version uses an arrangement of straps to define contour.

Abstract: An alarm system signals an attempt at intrusion through an opening framed to receive first and second panel members movable between opening and closing positions, as specifically shown in the form of a sliding glass door and screen door combination. An electrical switch mounted upon one panel has an element responsive to a magnetic field for developing a signal. A magnet mounted upon the other panel is productive of a magnetic field that interacts with the element of the switch upon movement of both the first and second panels to their closed positions. A signaling device coupled to the switch yields an alarm indication upon the beginning of the movement of either one of the panel members away from its closed position.

Abstract: A food grinder has an upstanding base unit within which is included an electric motor. A worm-driven gear linkage serves to deliver motion from the motor. Defined in one side of the base unit is a receptacle within which is received a cassette. The cassette includes a food grinding mechanism which receives motion from the linkage so as to operate that mechanism.

Abstract: An infant training tumbler includes an upright tubular housing within which is an upright internal web that divides the housing into a pair of longitudinal compartments. Affixed upon the upper end of the housing is a cap that completes a closure of the upper end of that one compartment. Openings in the cap permit the egress of liquid from the cap upon tilting of the housing. The geometrical relationships are such that the compartment is opposite the egress opening so that, upon a dropping of the housing, the openings are in a position that prevents significant spillage.
