  • Patent number: 11402164
Abstract: A system and method for installing a water diversion system to a cooling tower flume and distribution basin to dam a section of the basin includes installing first and second basin dams extending radially from respective first and second parapets of the flume wall to the basin wall in sealing contact with a basin floor, blocking water from flowing from the undammed section of the basin into the dammed section using the basin dams, and installing a flume dam to each notch of one or more notches distributed peripherally along the flume wall between the first and second parapets, blocking water from flowing from the flume into the distribution basin through the one or more notches using the flume dam, and such that the flume dams installed to the one or more notches in combination with the first and second basin dams define a dammed section of the basin.

  • Patent number: 10458146
Abstract: A barrier includes at least one support panel having a first face and a second face and a first bend intermediate the first face and the second face is provided. The support panel is deployable from a folded and packed condition to a freestanding condition, and is re-foldable to a packed condition. In the freestanding condition at least one expandable wire coil is operatively attached to the support panel to form the barrier. The expandable wire coil may be made of barbed wire, razor wire, or concertina wire. The support panel includes a diagonal brace and may include a generally horizontal brace. Retention cable may be strung through the wire coil to retain the wire coil to the support panel. The barrier may be provided as a deployment kit including the barrier materials in a packed condition. A method of deploying the barrier is provided.

  • Patent number: 10119794
Abstract: An entanglement obstacle for obstructing an area of a surface includes a mesh layer suspended over upright perimeter members via a perimeter cable and over upright central members via a central cable. The upright members are operatively attached to the surface. The perimeter cable is operatively attached to the perimeter members at a perimeter clearance above the surface to provide a trip impediment. The central cable is operatively attached to the central members at a central clearance above the surface to provide a step-over impediment. The central clearance is greater than the perimeter clearance. The mesh layer is operatively attached to the perimeter and central cables such that the mesh layer covers the obstructed area to provide an entanglement obstacle. The mesh layer is inclined from the central cable to each of first and second sides of the obstacle at an angle defined by the central perimeter clearances.
