  • Patent number: 10525389
Abstract: A dual stage filter assembly for use in a fluid cleaning and sludge removal operation, including a first stage separator incorporated into a first vessel and receiving a dirty fluid flow, a first stage clean fluid outlet extending from the first stage separator. A second stage filter is incorporated into a second vessel in fluidic communication with a dirty fluid outlet of the first stage separator for subsequent filtering and outflow through a second stage clean outlet. A flow restrictor is incorporated into said second stage clean outlet for controlling a flow rate through said filter in order to prevent clogging of the same by aggregating debris.

  • Patent number: 9766213
Abstract: Methods, articles of manufacture, and kits for calibrating fluid delivery systems are provided. A fluid delivery system connected to N input streams, where N is an integer greater than or equal to 2, mixes together fluid from the N input streams to form an output stream. The methods involve obtaining N test solutions, each containing a dye, providing optical absorbances of the test solutions at appropriate wavelengths, injecting the test solutions into the input streams, mixing the test solutions, and measuring the absorbance of the output stream at the same wavelengths. The methods also involve comparing the absorbances of the test solutions with the absorbances of the output stream, which can include calculating ratios and comparing the ratios with target values. The methods can further involve adjusting operation of the fluid delivery system based upon the absorbances. In some embodiments, the dyes have largely non-overlapping absorbance spectra.

  • Patent number: 9718626
Abstract: A cleaning mechanism for use with a closed loop conveyor belt supported in continuous traversing fashion. The mechanism includes a housing for supporting the belt, a frame mounted to the housing proximate to the belt. A drive shaft extends between spaced apart locations of the frame and includes a pair of head sprockets adapted for supporting the belt at a selected location. A motor is engaged to an input end of the drive shaft. A counter weighted comb element is pivotally secured to the frame, an upper angled combed edge of the comb element arrayed in spatial non-contacting fashion with a traversing exterior of the belt for capturing elongated shaving debris suspended from the belt. A slave shaft extends between additional spaced apart location of the frame and which is rotated via a linkage with the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 9315407
Abstract: A system for producing and supplying a coolant to a filtration sub-system, and for reconditioning and recombining a return flow of used coolant. A main reservoir is in two way communication with the filtration sub-system via a clean coolant outlet and a dirty coolant return. An inlet feeds an untreated water supply to a de-ionization canister. A mixing valve in communication with the inlet recombines a remaining untreated portion of the water supply with the de-ionized portion. A mixing pump intermixes the water supply with a chemical concentrate to produce a coolant delivered to a main reservoir. A volume of coolant is drawn through an outlet from the reservoir and communicates the coolant to a particle filter, a chiller, and prior to outputting to the filtration sub-systems. The used return coolant is filtered and reintroduced to the main reservoir.

  • Patent number: 9233866
Abstract: A dual stage filter assembly for use in a fluid cleaning and sludge removal operation. An upper stage centrifugal separator incorporated into a first vessel. A lower stage baffle filter is incorporated into a second vessel, such that a dirty fluid flow delivered to the upper stage separator includes a clean outlet along with a separate dirty outlet which is delivered to an inlet of the lower stage filter for subsequent filtering and outflow. A convex collection element facilitates delivery of dirty fluid to the lower stage filter and includes a cone shaped separator element and can be either fixed or removable relative to the upper stage separator. An ascending pipe from the upper separator evacuates a clean fluid flow resulting from a negative pressure created within the upper separator concurrent with the dirty outlet from the upper stage being directed through the baffle filter in the lower stage.

  • Patent number: 8501017
Abstract: A coolant filtration system and method for use with one or more metal working machines. The system includes a housing, pump, conveyer assembly, drum assembly, and centrifugal separator. The housing includes a tank that receives and holds coolant coming out of the one or more metal working machines. The pump is used to drive the coolant through the coolant filtration system. A part of the conveyer assembly is disposed within the housing in order to carry-away workpiece chips from the coolant. The drum assembly is located near the conveyer assembly in order to filter the coolant. The centrifugal separator receives coolant processed by the conveyor and drum assemblies. The system can further include one or more fine filters for additional filtering of the coolant outputted by the centrifugal separator.
