  • Patent number: 11093858
Abstract: A set of components is computed from performing NLP on a question in an input. An actual answer is computed corresponding to the question by a cognitive system. the actual answer corresponds to an actual subset of the set of components, and an expected answer corresponds to an expected subset of the subset of components. The actual answer is mapped to an actual category in a hierarchy of answer categories. A distance between the expected answer and the actual answer is computed where the distance is a function of a path in the hierarchy from the actual category to the expected category, and a degree of correctness of the actual answer is another function of the distance. A self-learning operation in the cognitive system causes a revised actual answer on the question being at a shorter distance from the expected answer.

  • Patent number: 11074395
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamic contribution mapping of digital works are disclosed. In embodiments, a computer-implemented method, comprises: capturing, by a computing device, an IP address of a user signing into a content management system through a user computer device; determining, by the computing device, that the IP address of the user does or does not match existing user profile data in a user profile database; determining, by the computing device, that the user is modifying a portion of a digital work; determining, by the computing device, an engagement context of the user's modification of the digital work using natural language processing; determining, by the computing device, an engagement type of the user based on the engagement context; and mapping, by the computing device, the user profile data of the user and the engagement type with the portion of the digital work.

  • Patent number: 11047690
Abstract: A method and system for automatically detecting a location is provided. The method includes receiving by a vehicle, data describing a specified geographical area of a collapsed structure. A received control signal enables control of the vehicle such that the vehicle initiates motion and navigates in a specified direction towards the specified geographical area and upon arriving at the specified geographical area, a size and a magnitude of the collapsed structure is determined via sensors of the vehicle. A center location of the collapsed structure is determined and the vehicle hovers above the center location. Geographical coordinates of the location above the center location are transmitted to a search and rescue system and the center location is scanned via ground penetrating radar. Open spaces within the collapsed structure are determined and scanned to locate living entities within the open spaces.

  • Patent number: 11019019
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system includes a processor(s) obtaining a hashtag and analyzing the hashtag to identify components comprising the hashtag. The processor(s) generate sub-hashtags, where each of the sub-hashtags includes at least one component. The processor(s) obtain, over an Internet connection, via a user interface of a social media platform displayed on a first computing resource, an entry by a user comprising text and the hashtag. The processor(s) obtains from a second computing resource, a request from a second user to access the entry that includes parameters of the second user on the platform. The processor(s) determine that a sub-hashtag is most relevant to the second user. The processor(s) configure instructions to display a customized entry, where the customized entry includes the text and the relevant sub-hashtag for the second user. The processor(s) instruct the second computing resource to display the customized entry in its user interface.

  • Patent number: 10657327
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for clarifying homophone usage in natural language content. The mechanisms analyze natural language content to identify a homophone instance in the natural language content, the homophone instance being a first term having a first definition and a first pronunciation for which there is a second term having the first pronunciation and a second definition different from the first definition. The mechanisms, in response to identifying the homophone instance, analyze the natural language content to identify a third term that is a synonym for the second term. The third term has a third definition that is nearly the same as the second definition. The mechanisms, in response to the natural language content comprising the third term, perform a clarifying operation to modify the natural language content to clarify the homophone instance and generate a modified natural language content.
