    Abstract: A circular polarized antenna has a group of conductor lines that comprise a planar metal conductor, and a feeding point connected to a part of the conductor lines. When a current to be induced on the conductor lines is projected onto two mutually-perpendicular axes to define projections and arguments therebetween, a ratio between absolute values of the projections is 0.7 to 1.3 and an absolute value of a difference between the arguments is 80 to 100 degrees, and a reactance component of an impedance of the feeing point is nearly zero.

    Abstract: A small multi-mode antenna in which a single feeding point can be used commonly for multiple frequencies and an RF module using such antenna for use in less-costly and small multimedia wireless apparatus is provided. The antenna is configured such that a single feeding point 4 which is common for multiple frequencies is set up at one end of a radiating conductor 1, a first one-port resonant circuit 2 is connected to the one end thereof, and a second one-port resonant circuit 3 is connected to the other end of the radiating conductor 1. With a conductance component of admittance in view from the feeding point 4 toward free space equaling the characteristic admittance in the RF circuit, a susceptance component of the admittance is canceled out by the resonant circuit 2 connected to the feeding point 4 for multiple frequencies.

    Abstract: A small antenna operating in multiple modes including three or more modes. There are provided an antenna that includes a ground conductor having a ground potential, a single feeding point whose one end is formed by a part of the ground conductor, and a plurality of transmission lines to which RF power supplied to the feeding point is input, the transmission lines each radiating electromagnetic waves of three frequencies of three modes into space. These transmission lines comprises a transmission line 41 that is connected to the feeding point at one end and to a branching point at the other end, a transmission line connected between branching points, and transmission lines connected to the branching points. The lengths of the respective transmission lines are set so that impedance matching is performed at the feeding point with respect to a plurality of frequencies. The antenna is formed from an integrated metal plate.

The small-sized, high sensitivity measurement apparatus for detecting biological and chemical materials such as genes and measuring physical and chemical amounts such as temperature, pressure, pH, and the like can be implemented.

    Abstract: The invention provides a small multimode antenna capable of commonly using a single feeding point at a plurality of frequencies. The antenna includes a radiating conductor 1 disposed above a ground conductor 6 and distributed-constant circuits 2 and 3 coupled to the radiating conductor. Each of the distributed-constant circuits is constructed by a transmission line and has a branch. One end of the radiating conductor and one end of the distributed-constant circuit 2 are connected to each other to be a connection point and, further, the other end of the radiating conductor and one end of the distributed-constant circuit 3 are connected to each other. The connection point is a single feeding point 9 using the ground conductor as an earth. The distributed-constant circuits 2 and 3 are designed as an equivalent circuit in which different stubs are connected in parallel with a transmission line, and impedance matching at a plurality of frequencies is realized at the feeding point.
