Patent number: 6791456Abstract: To make it possible to take appropriate action promptly in response to a report from a vehicle of an abnormality such as a theft, an accident, or a failure. A terminal apparatus is included in vehicles to transmit an abnormality report and thereby providing a notification of the occurrence of an abnormality to a control apparatus. The terminal apparatus includes abnormality information C from an abnormality detecting sensor, identifying information A of the vehicle, attribute information D for indicating attributes of the vehicle itself, and position information D of the vehicle. The control apparatus can thereby detect the occurrence of the abnormality of the vehicle, identify the vehicle having the abnormality, identify the attributes of the vehicle having the abnormality, and identify the location where the abnormality has occurred. It is thus possible to take appropriate action promptly such as sending an appropriate report and sending an appropriate request to a maintenance service.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2002Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kengo Nakayama, Yoshifumi Mochizuki

Patent number: 6557603Abstract: A tube tire capable of simply, positively preventing the generation of a puncture due to contact of opposing portions of the wall surface of a tube. Double wall portions are formed at rim striking portions of a tube contained in a tire, and the internal spaces of the double wall portions are filled with a sealant. When the tire rides over an obstacle and the tire and the tube are clamped between the flange portions of a rim and the obstacle, the shock is damped by the double wall portions to prevent damage of the tube. Even if the double wall portions are damaged, the damaged portion is repaired with the sealant, thereby eliminating the generation of leakage of air.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2000Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Katsutoshi Yamazaki, Kengo Nakayama, Hirohisa Takahashi, Toshio Yamagiwa

Patent number: 6334918Abstract: A tube tire for avoiding damage to a tube in charging a sealant, and for preventing the sealant from plugging an air valve of the tube. A first tube half and a second tube half have the same side and circular cross sections are joined together as raw rubber, and then vulcanized, thereby forming a tube consisting of the two tube halves and integrated in a seamless condition. An air chamber is defined in the first tube half, and a sealant chamber is filled with a sealant and is defined in the second tube half. When the tube is pierced, the sealant repairs a pierced hole to prevent the puncture. Further, the air chamber is separated from the sealant chamber, so that an air valve provided on the air chamber is not plugged with the sealant.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1997Date of Patent: January 1, 2002Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshio Yamagiwa, Hirohisa Takahashi, Kengo Nakayama, Katsutoshi Yamazaki

Patent number: 5894874Abstract: A tube or tubeless tire, which can be punctured and still allow a vehicle to continue running, includes a plurality of spherical members formed of foamed rubber or foamed urethane. The spherical members are contained inside an air chamber of the tire and occupy 50% to 80% of the volume of the air chamber of an inflated tire.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1997Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshio Yamagiwa, Hirohisa Takahashi, Kengo Nakayama, Katsutoshi Yamazaki

Patent number: 4508944Abstract: A handle switch assembly is arranged on the steering handle in the vicinity of a handle grip, and includes at least one switch comprising a plurality of first push buttons arranged on a surface of the switch housing, and a second push button arranged in a manner independent and separate from the first push buttons. Each of the first push buttons, when pushed, causes the switch to turn on and holds same in the on-state, while the second push button, when pushed, releases the switch from its on-state. The first push buttons are juxtaposed axially of the handle grip, and the second push button is spaced in a predetermined circumferential direction from a line connecting between side edges of the first push buttons facing in the same predetermined circumferential direction.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1983Date of Patent: April 2, 1985Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Michio Yashima, Akihiro Komatsu, Masami Takanashi, Masashi Hirose, Kengo Nakayama
