    Abstract: A cyclic conjugated diene copolymer comprising a main chain comprised of (A) cyclic conjugated diene monomer units, (B) monomer units obtained from vinyl aromatic monomers each having a hydrogen atom at the ?-position thereof, and optionally (C) monomer units obtained from commoners which are other than the monomers used for obtaining the monomer units A and B and which are copolymerizable with at least one of the monomers used for obtaining the monomer units A and B, wherein all monomer units A and the monomer units B together form one or more polymer chains each having an A/B random sequence, wherein the one or more polymer chains each having an A/B random sequence contain at least one polymer chain having a number average molecular weight of from 20,000 to 500,000 and contain no polymer chain having a number average molecular weight of more than 500,000. A process for producing the above-mentioned cyclic conjugated diene copolymer by living anionic polymerization.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a lubricant oil composition comprising: (A) a fluorine-containing aromatic compound, and(B) an alkyl- or alkyl derivative-substituted aromatic compound having a kinetic viscosity of from 0.1 to 500 cSt as measured at 40 .degree. C., wherein:the compound (A) is represented by the formula:R(XR.sub.f).sub.n (A)wherein X represents an oxygen or a sulfur atom; n is an integer of from 1 to 4; R represents an n-valent, unsubstituted or substituted aromatic group having from 6 to 60 carbon atoms; and R.sub.f represents an unsubstituted or partially substituted fluorocarbon group having from 1 to 25 carbon atoms; andthe compound (B) comprises at least one substituted aromatic nucleus, wherein a substituent is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group having from 1 to 30 carbon atoms, or a derivative thereof. The lubricant oil composition having a kinetic viscosity of from 2 to 500 cSt as measured at 40.degree. C.

    Abstract: A process for the production of a polyacetylene composite is disclosed. A solution containing at least one ionic organic compound represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein M denotes at least one member selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, X and Y are the same or different and represent --O or ##STR2## R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each are at least one member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl groups of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy groups of 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 in combination form a cyclic structure, is applied to a polyacetylene polymer. The coated polyacetylene polymer is then dried.

A method for making the polymer comprises reacting 3-alkyl-2,5-dihalogenated thiophene with magnesium in an inert solvent in the substantial absence of water, in the presence of a nickel compound as a catalyst in an inert atmosphere.
