  • Patent number: 9526313
Abstract: A drawing apparatus includes a drawing head, a movement mechanism, and a control unit. The drawing head holds at least one modification member having a first tip at its one end and operates in such a way as to allow the first tip of the modification member to touch ink which is undried or uncured and applied to a drawing target. The movement mechanism moves the drawing head. The control unit controls the drawing head and the movement mechanism. The control unit controls a modification operation in which the movement mechanism moves the modification member through the drawing head while the first tip is touching the ink on the drawing target so that a part of a pattern formed with the ink on the drawing target is modified.

  • Patent number: 8118409
Abstract: In an acoustic ink jet printer, a configuration is such that an ink unit 5b and a piezoelectric body unit 5a are separated, and a printing is carried out by the ink unit moving on the piezoelectric body unit. Herein, a configuration is such that a plurality of ink cartridges are disposed on a recording head 5. Also, at this time, a configuration is such that only necessary ink cartridges are disposed on the recording head. An acoustic ink jet printer is obtained with which a replacement of a head unit is unnecessary even in the event of a clogging or the like occurring in a nozzle, and with which, the structure of the ink cartridges being simplified, and furthermore, a simplification of the apparatus being achieved even when colorizing, a reduction in cost is possible.

  • Patent number: 7118207
Abstract: Ink for use in an ink-jet color recording apparatus and a plurality of kinds of small microcapsules dispersed in the solvent, each small microcapsule having an outer shell destroyable with ultrasonic waves of a predetermined resonant frequency, each small microcapsule containing a color former within its outer shell with the outer surface of the outer shell covered with a developer. The plurality of kinds of small microcapsules are destroyed selectively with the corresponding predetermined stimuli to thereby produce magenta, cyan, yellow or black. The ink is colorless before producing the color. The ink-jet color recording apparatus irradiates the plurality of small microcapsules with ultrasonic waves of a selected frequency corresponding to a desired color to thereby change the color of the ink on a path through which the ink is fed from a color ink feeding device to an ink cartridge.

  • Patent number: 7022444
Abstract: A color image forming method and apparatus using larger microcapsules each of which contains a plurality of kinds of smaller microcapsules scattered within the larger microcapsule, reacting substances that are mixed with each other to perform a coloring reaction being scattered inside and outside the smaller microcapsule. A protective wall of each smaller microcapsule is broken with a corresponding predetermined ultrasonic stimulus depending upon color component information to thereby cause the reacting substances to diffuse with each other to perform a coloring reaction and hence image printing. The conditions for breaking the protective walls of the respective smaller microcapsules that contain a color former component vary from smaller microcapsule to smaller microcapsule, or are determined depending upon the outer shapes, materials and thickness of the protective walls of the smaller microcapsules.

  • Patent number: 5374981
Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus includes a developing agent carrier member provided to extend along a predetermined path. A developing agent convey unit conveys a developing agent along the surface of the developing agent carrier member. The developing agent carrier member has a step in a developing agent convey direction of its surface. A plurality of recording electrodes are aligned on an upper surface of the step of the developing agent carrier member and spaced apart from each other with gaps therebetween in a direction perpendicular to the developing agent convey direction, and project uniformly from the step. An opposite electrode is disposed to oppose the plurality of recording electrodes. A leaf spring member supports at least portions of the plurality of recording electrodes projecting from the step and can swing the projecting recording electrodes in directions to approach to and to separate from the opposite electrode.

  • Patent number: 5210551
Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus includes a developing agent carrying member having a surface for carrying a developing agent thereon. A plurality of recording electrodes are arranged on the surface of the developing agent carrying member in parallel to each other at a predetermined gap while being electrically insulated from each other. An electrode cylinder is arranged to oppose the plurality of recording electrodes at a predetermined gap. A developing agent convey section conveys the developing agent such that a circulating convey path is formed along the surface of the developing agent carrying member. A voltage control section outputs a control signal including recording data. A recording electrode drive section is provided inside a space defined by the circulating convey path.

  • Patent number: 5198839
Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus includes a magnet roll for conveying a developing agent along a predetermined developing agent convey path. A plurality of recording electrodes are arranged to oppose the magnet roll and along the developing agent convey path. An opposite electrode has a portion opposing the plurality of recording electrodes and is arranged with a predetermined gap from the plurality of recording electrodes. A voltage applying unit applies a recording voltage corresponding to supplied dot recording information to each of the plurality of recording electrodes to generate a transferring electric field for transferring the developing agent to the opposite electrode between the opposite electrode and the plurality of recording electrodes, thereby forming a dot recording image corresponding to the dot recording information on the opposite electrode.

  • Patent number: 5196890
Abstract: An electrostatic recording apparatus includes a developing agent carrier member arranged along a predetermined developing agent convey path. A developing agent conveying section conveys a developing agent along a surface of the developing agent carrier member. A plurality of recording electrodes are arranged on the surface of the developing agent carrier member at a predetermined pitch. An opposite electrode is arranged to oppose the plurality of recording electrodes at a predetermined gap. A voltage applying section applies a voltage corresponding to recording information to each of the plurality of recording electrodes to selectively transfer the developing agent, which is conveyed along the surface of the developing agent carrier member, to the opposite electrode. The developing agent carrier member has a step at a portion on its surface shifted to an upstream side of a developing agent convey direction from a position closest to the opposite electrode.
