Publication number: 20120073914Abstract: A brake system includes a pad having a frictional surface, and a disc having a frictional surface sliding on the frictional surface. The frictional surface includes hard particles supported elastically and a plurality of protrusions arranged along a direction in which the frictional surface slides on the frictional surface, and when the frictional surface slides on the frictional surface, particles abut respective protrusions continuously while being displaced in the direction perpendicular to the frictional surface. Thus, wear resistance can be improved Since only the vicinities of the peaks of the hard particles and the vicinities of the peaks of the protrusions abut, the hard particles do not follow irregularities of the frictional surface, and thereby the hard particles and the protrusions repeat point contact. Thus, since the distance between the hard particles and the protrusions is stabilized and the adhesion frictional force is stabilized, a stable frictional force can be obtained.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2009Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Kenji Abe, Hiroshi Isono, Yoshitomo Denou

Publication number: 20120037465Abstract: A braking device is provided with a pad having hard particles on a wavelike friction surface, and a disc having a hard layer on a wavelike friction surface which slides on the wavelike friction surface. The wavelike friction surface has a groove portion in a direction in which the wavelike friction surfaces slide on each other, and the wavelike friction surface has a protruding portion which abuts on the groove. Therefore, the actual contact area between the friction surfaces having the hard members is increased, and a higher frictional force can be obtained without sacrificing wear resistance.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2009Publication date: February 16, 2012Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Kenji Abe, Hiroshi Isono, Yoshitomo Denou

Patent number: 8037614Abstract: A technique is provided which is effective in preventing chips generated during cutting operation on a workpiece from being accumulated in a region ahead in a cutting direction. A representative cutting machine includes a motor, a blade, a body housing having a first region that houses the motor and a second region that covers the blade and projects forward of a front surface of the first region, a base, an angular plate, an outlet formed in the body housing, an opening and a blocking part. The blocking part prevents the air discharged from the outlet from flowing out laterally with respect to the moving direction of the base through a clearance between a front end of the second region and the one end of the angular plate and thereby helps the air discharged from the outlet flow into the opening.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2009Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: Makita CorporationInventors: Kai Yang, Kenji Abe

Publication number: 20110198162Abstract: A brake device includes a pad 100a having a friction surface 101 and a disk 200a having a friction surface 201 sliding on the friction surface 101. The friction surface 101 includes hard particles 102 that are elastically supported in a y direction perpendicular to the friction surface 201. The friction surface 201 includes a plurality of convex portions 202 that is disposed in a direction where the friction surface 201 slides on the friction surface 101. When the friction surface 201 slides on the friction surface 101, the hard particles 102 continuously come into contact with the convex portions 202, respectively, while being displaced in the y direction perpendicular to the friction surface 201. Accordingly, the brake device can improve abrasion resistance as compared to a brake device that mainly performs abrasive friction.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2009Publication date: August 18, 2011Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Kenji Abe, Hiroshi Isono, Yoshitomo Denou
