  • Patent number: 11987201
Abstract: An airbag system includes: a first left chamber that is expandable so as to cover an outer surface of a front left pillar which is located on a left side with respect to a vehicle width direction of a vehicle; a second left chamber that is expandable on the first left chamber; a first right chamber that is expandable so as to cover an outer surface of a front right pillar which is located on a right side with respect to the vehicle width direction of the vehicle; a second right chamber that is expandable on the first right chamber; a recognition portion that recognizes a risk object which is present in a vicinity of the vehicle; a prediction portion that predicts a collision between the risk object and the vehicle; and an expansion control portion that performs an expansion control of the first left chamber, the second left chamber, the first right chamber, and the second right chamber based on a prediction of the prediction portion.

  • Patent number: 5982514
Abstract: An optical-signal/electric-signal converting device communications system for a communications system that establishes communications using electric and optical signals. The converting device converts an electric transmission signal into an optical transmission signal and an optical transmission signal into an electric transmission signal. The converting device includes an electric signal receiving circuit for receiving the electric transmission signal transmitted from the host computer of the communications system through an electric transmission line, and a modulating circuit for modulating the electric signal sent from the electric signal receiving circuit into a pulse signal having pulses of a smaller width.

  • Patent number: 5969839
Abstract: An optical communications device is disclosed which is equipped with a transmission unit adapted to send binary-coded electrical pulse signals to another optical communications device in the form of optical pulse signals. The transmission unit includes a modulator for producing an electrical pulse signal of a narrow pulse width only at each of rising and falling edges in the binary-coded electrical pulse signals and an electro-optic converter for converting the electrical pulse signal of a narrow pulse width into an optical pulse signal of a narrow pulse signal. As an alternative, the transmission unit includes a modulator which produces an electrical pulse signal of a narrow pulse width for each bit in the binary-coded electrical pulse signals only when it is at a high level and an electro-optic converter which converts the electrical pulse signal of a narrow pulse width into an optical pulse signal of a narrow pulse width.

  • Patent number: 5448231
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for transmitting signals on a transmission line, the transmission line having a DC current flowing therethrough and having a plurality of terminals connected thereto in a multidrop fashion. Each of the terminals is capable of drawing a portion of the DC current. A signal is transmitted on the transmission line by varying the portions of the DC current drawn by the terminals. When the signal is not being transmitted the total amount of the DC current drawn by the terminals from the transmission line is maintained at a value smaller than an average amount of the DC current drawn by the terminals from the transmission line when the signal is being transmitted.

  • Patent number: 4814754
Abstract: A monitoring system for a serial transmission line which analyzes serial data received from a serial transmission line on the basis of a protocol or a data format for serial transmission and converts the serial data into display data, thereby monitoring the serial data. The system converts all or a portion of the data being displayed in one coding format and displays the fresh display data (for example, data displayed in HEX coding is converted and displayed in ASCII coding).
