  • Publication number: 20060091722
Abstract: A brake apparatus has two switching elements in an initial check function section, and detects a broken wiring failure of an actuator by turning on only one of the two switching elements. Therefore, during the initial check, a drive current does not flow through the actuator. Thus, it becomes possible to perform the initial check without operating the actuator. By making it possible to perform the initial check without operating the actuator in this manner, it becomes possible to prevent occurrence of the problem of rush current occurring when the actuator is operated for a short time and the problem of the switching elements being destroyed.

  • Publication number: 20050242497
Abstract: A conveyor apparatus includes a receiving clearance adjustment mechanism for adjusting the vertical clearance between portions of downstream-side upper belts, the portion being located furthest upstream with respect to the conveyance direction of signatures, and upstream-side lower belts. The conveyor apparatus also includes a separation start position adjustment mechanism for adjusting a position at which upstream-side upper belts start to separate away from a signature. The conveyer apparatus can convey sheets, while properly transferring them between upstream-side belts to downstream-side belts, without generation of unintended positional shift, even when changes arise in the thickness and/or length of the sheets.

  • Publication number: 20050151419
Abstract: A failure check apparatus for a control apparatus of a vehicle such as ABS. When the failure check apparatus performs initial check for the ABS, it successively activates each of solenoid valves and a motor provided in the ABS, one at a time, for a predetermined time so as to determine whether a failure has occurred in the ABS. At that time, activation of the motor is started when a certain delay time elapses after the end of activation of the last solenoid valve. The delay time is a time which the vibration generated in the control apparatus upon activation of the last solenoid valve converges. Thus, interference between a vibration wave (sound wave) generated upon actuation of the solenoid valves and a vibration wave (sound wave) generated upon actuation of the motor, which differ in nature of vibration, is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040216169
Abstract: A DVD eigen number acquiring section acquires an identification number of an optical disk loaded in an optical disk reproducing apparatus. A control section transmits the identification number to a subtitle server over a communication network via a communication control section and requires that the subtitle server searches for subtitle information of video software recorded on the optical disk. The control section receives a search result from the subtitle server 21 and receives the subtitle information from the subtitle server in the case where the subtitle information exists. An output section synthesizes the received subtitle information with video pictures reproduced from the optical disk to output the synthesized pictures.
