  • Patent number: 4769718
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is equipped with an original document illuminating lamp, a reflector arranged in association with the lamp and having a color-compensating anodic oxidation coating formed on at least a part of a reflecting surface of the reflector, and a photosensitive member adapted to receive light from an original document upon exposure of the original document to light from the lamp and having an oversensitive range in the spectral sensitivity characteristics thereof. The reflector is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. Owing to the provision of the color-compensating anodic oxidation coating, the reflectivity of the reflector to light in a wavelength region corresponding to the oversensitive range of the photosensitive member is smaller than its reflectivity to light in wavelength region other than the first-mentioned wavelength region.

  • Patent number: 4668081
Abstract: An exposure device suitable for use in a copying machine includes a gutter-like mirror composed of an upper mirror and a lower mirror so that light projected from a light source onto the lower mirror is reflected to illuminate the surface of an original document in the pattern of a strip but light projected from the light source onto the upper mirror is reflected first onto the lower mirror and then reflected again by the lower mirror to illuminate the surface of the original document in the pattern of the strip. At least four small bulbs are arranged as the light source along the length of the gutter-like mirror and the envelopes of the small bulbs are frosted only at portions through which the internal filaments of the small bulbs face on the lower mirror.

  • Patent number: 4653904
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an exposure intensity detecting system suitable for use in a copying machine. The detecting system is characterized in that a light-shielding plate is arranged underneath a glass table for an original document and defining therethrough a projection slit and a detection slit which extends in parallel with the projection slit. The intensity of light passed through the detection slit of the light-shielding plate is detected by a photosensor. The detecting system can correctly detect the intensity of light, which is to be used for the exposure of a photosensitive member, without giving any influence to the distribution of light to be employed for the illumination of the original document and to the exposure of the photosensitive member. By controlling the quantity of light to be radiated from a light-source lamp in accordance with detection signals of the photosensor, it is always possible to achieve good exposure and hence to form superb duplicate marks.
