    Abstract: A technique is provided that can further reduce power at the time of “unload operation control” in a gas compressor that generates a compressed gas at a set pressure by constant-speed control. The gas compressor includes a compressor main unit, a drive source, an intake throttle valve, a gas release valve, rotation speed converting means, a pressure detecting device that detects a discharge pressure, and a controller that, the relationship between an upper-limit pressure H and a lower-limit pressure L being H>L, carries out opening the intake throttle valve and closing the gas release valve and operating the drive source at a full-load rotation speed until the discharge pressure reaches the upper-limit pressure H. The controller carries out at least one of closing the intake throttle valve and opening the gas release valve to reduce the discharge pressure to within a predetermined range when the discharge pressure reaches the upper-limit pressure H.

    Abstract: A screw compressor includes a screw rotor, a casing, and a fluid supply portion to supply fluid in a membrane form into a compression chamber in the casing. The screw rotor has a male and female rotors. A male bore covering the male rotor and a female bore covering the female rotor are formed on the inner surface of the casing. An intersection line, on a higher pressure side, of the male and female bores is defined as a compression cusp. In a bore development view, a trajectory made by the first intersection of an extension line of a female lobe ridge and a male lobe ridge being moved, along with the rotation of the male and female rotors, is defined as a trajectory line. An opening of the fluid supply section to the compression chamber is positioned between the compression cusp and the trajectory line.

The motor includes a discriminator to determine whether motor rotation is abnormal, and a controller having a first mode to reduce a deviation between a determined motor rotation phase and an instructed phase, and a second mode to control a driving current based on a current having a previously determined magnitude. The controller switches from the second to the first mode if a motor rotor target speed value becomes larger than a predetermined value during the second mode after motor driving is started in the second mode. Where the motor was stopped due to the detector detecting a sheet conveyance abnormality and the discriminator determine that motor rotation is abnormal, the controller starts and maintains the motor driving in the second mode, even if the target speed value becomes larger than the predetermined value.
