Abstract: A flexible disc apparatus comprising a frame having a recording medium loading portion, a carriage portion, and a recording medium unloading mechanism portion, which comprises a medium holding portion which is arranged to be moveable along the loading and unloading direction of the recording disc and is provided with a medium holding portion which engages with one portion of the recording disc to maintain the recording disc at a predetermined space along the loading and unloading direction.

Abstract: A small-sized and thin flexible recording system including a flexible disk drive and a recording disk is provided. The recording disk has a disk-shaped recording medium and a recording medium cartridge rotatably receiving therein the recording medium. The flexible disk drive includes a magnetic head for recording information into the recording medium or reproducing information recorded in the recording medium, a carriage mechanism for moving the magnetic head, a recording medium drive motor for rotating the recording medium, a frame having an insertion opening through which the recording disk is inserted, a recording medium mounting portion formed adjacent the insertion opening in a direction in which the recording disk is inserted for mounting thereon the recording disk, and a recording-disk ejection mechanism for ejecting the recording disk from the frame.

Abstract: A flexible disc apparatus includes a frame having a recording medium loading portion, a carriage portion, a recording medium unloading mechanism portion and a magnet portion for attracting a metal portion of the recording disc. An unloading amount restricting spring portion is engageable with a recess portion on the recording disc. The unloading amount restricting spring portion which may be disposed to the frame includes a first engagement portion defining a first predetermined angle with respect to the recording disc and a second engagement portion defining a second predetermined angle smaller than the first predetermined angle with respect to the recording disc.

Abstract: A flexible magnetic disc apparatus comprising a magnetic head portion for recording and reproducing a disc-shaped recording medium and a loading mechanism portion for loading and unloading the recording medium and having a button portion. When the recording medium is loaded, the button portion projects from a panel surface of the flexible magnetic disc apparatus in a first direction. When the button portion is depressed in a second direction opposite to the first direction, the button portion causes the loading mechanism portion to unload the recording medium. The button portion is capable of being elastically deformed in a direction other than the first direction and may be rubber which has a rubber hardness of a range of from 80 to 100. The button portion may be a cylindrical member having a diameter of from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm and a distance of projection of the button portion being from 3.0 mm to 5.0 mm.

Abstract: A small and thin storage device that can be substituted for IC memory card is disclosed. When the recording medium cartridge is inserted into the frame of the storage device, a slide member in a hub moves parallel to the frame and retracts a shaft under restriction of a restriction member provided in the recording medium cartridge so that the hub and the shaft engage. When the recording medium cartridge is ejected from the frame, the slide member moves parallel to the frame and the shaft under restriction of the restriction member so as to release the engagement of the shaft and the hub.

Abstract: A small and thin storage device that can be substituted for IC memory card is disclosed. When the recording medium cartridge is inserted into the frame of the storage device, a slide member in a hub moves parallel to the frame and retracts a shaft under restriction of a restriction member provided in the recording medium cartridge so that the hub and the shaft engage. When the recording medium cartridge is ejected from the frame, the slide member moves parallel to the frame and the shaft under restriction of the restriction member so as to release the engagement of the shaft and the hub.

Abstract: A magnetic disk drive. A cartridge for accommodating a magnetic recording medium also accommodates an actuator and a spindle. The spindle accommodated in the cartridge is driven by a spindle driving mechanism provided in a driving device so as to rotate the magnetic recording medium. The actuator is driven by an actuator driving mechanism provided in the driving device so as to move a magnetic head approximately in the radial direction of the magnetic recording medium. The cartridge includes a shutter mechanism which is opened so as to expose at least a part of the spindle and the actuator in such a manner as to face the actuator driving mechanism and the spindle driving mechanism, respectively, when the cartridge is mounted on the driving device and which is closed so as to enclose the spindle and the magnetic head and the actuator in the cartridge in a sealed state when the cartridge is removed from the driving device.
