  • Patent number: 9070404
Abstract: A recording tape cartridge capable of keeping position error signals during running of a recording tape small. A recording tape cartridge is provided with a reel hub, a magnetic tape that is wound round the reel hub, and a lower flange and upper flange that are disposed to oppose one another at each of the both axial direction ends of the reel hub. In a state in which the magnetic tape is completely wound on the reel hub, the magnetic tape is offset toward the upper flange. A space of an edge clearance between a lower end of an outermost periphery portion of the magnetic tape and the lower flange is at least 0.18 mm and at most 0.46 mm. A rate of widening of a facing distance between the lower flange and the upper flange increases toward the outer periphery side.

  • Patent number: 7857250
Abstract: A recording tape cartridge includes a reel, a case where the reel is accommodated, an engagement gear that is provided in the reel, and a brake gear which is provided in the case side brake member and in which a mesh state with the engagement gear or a mesh release state with the engagement gear is switched by relative displacement of an axis line direction of the brake member with respect to the reel. In a piece taper tooth of the engagement gear, a mesh surface that is oriented in a winding rotation direction is approximately parallel to a reel axis line direction and an opposite mesh surface is inclined with respect to the reel axis line. A piece taper tooth of the brake gear is a taper tooth that is opposite to the piece taper tooth of the engagement gear.

  • Patent number: 7841554
Abstract: A recording tape cartridge can prevent release of rotation locking of a reel with respect to a case accompanying dropping of the recording tape cartridge. The tape recording cartridge is configured to rotatably accommodate within a case a reel that has magnetic tape wound on a reel hub. Within the reel hub, external teeth of a brake gear, of a brake member that is supported so as to be non-rotatable with respect to the case, mesh with an engaged gear having internal teeth, preventing rotation of the reel with respect to the case. Lock portions of lock members are inserted between the reel positioned biased to a bottom panel side by a compression coil spring, and a top panel, thereby preventing movement of the reel with respect to the case in the reel axial direction.

  • Publication number: 20100038465
Abstract: A recording tape cartridge includes: a reel that includes a bottomed circular cylinder-shaped hub; a case that includes a top plate and a bottom plate, with the reel being singly housed in the case such that the reel is movable along an axial line direction between the top plate and the bottom plate; a ring-shaped member that is fixedly attached to the inner peripheral surface of the hub; an engagement gear formed on the ring-shaped member such that its teeth surface is substantially parallel to the axial line of the reel; and a brake member having a brake gear that is capable of meshing with the engagement gear. The brake gear, by being displaced in the axial line direction of the reel, can take a rotation lock position where the brake gear meshes with the engagement gear and a rotation allowance position where the meshing is released.
