Publication number: 20200325233Abstract: The receptor killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 (KLRG1) is expressed on T and NK cells, which binds to ligands on epithelial and mesenchymal cells. The ligand for KLRG1 has been described to be E-cadherin, N-cadherin, and R-cadherin. The present disclosure relates to and results from the discovery and characterization of antibodies that bind the extracellular domain (ECD) of KLRG1 but do not interfere with its interaction with the ligands E-cadherin, N-cadherin, and R-cadherin. The antibodies described have been derived by mouse hybridoma technology, and can be humanized by grafting their complementary determining regions (CDRs) into a human framework. The antibodies described can be used as effective therapeutic agents. Various antibodies, or antigen-binding fragments of such antibodies, along with various therapeutic and/or diagnostic methods, among other features, are provided for in the present disclosure.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2020Publication date: October 15, 2020Inventors: Stefano Vincenzo Gulla, Evan Kenneth Thompson

Patent number: 10577880Abstract: A system for monitoring coring operations has a sensor 80 for detecting one or more drilling parameters relating to a down-the-hole coring operation. An indicative signal from the sensor is communicated to a signal transmitter (30) for transmitting the indicative signal to the surface. The signal transmitter is located in or adjacent the coring assembly. The signal transmitter can be a mud pulser (30) housed above a core barrel (14). Communication of the indicative signal to the signal transmitter can be wireless, hard wired or conducted through the material of an outer barrel (12) of a drilling assembly. The core barrel can include a core limit recognition/detection device (34). An adapter/sub (90) incorporates a check valve (92) to relieve excess fluid pressure if there is sufficient hydraulic lock immediately above a core sample within the core barrel as the core sample enters the core barrel.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2015Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Inventors: William Francis Connell, Andrew Kenneth Thompson

Publication number: 20190096274Abstract: The objects of the present invention are to provide technology for facilitating the teaching of subjects using virtual 3-D scenes or environments (such as used in video games or VR displays) in which objects in the virtual scene can have their properties identified using virtual measurement instruments. Each important object or section of an object in the virtual world would have a file of its properties and each virtual measurement instrument would have instructions for how to display them. The object's properties can, thus, be displayed by identifying a virtual instrument and then identifying the object or section of the object, by for example, pointing with a mouse curser and clicking a mouse button.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2018Publication date: March 28, 2019Applicant: TheBeamer LLCInventors: Peter Solomon, Patrick Belanger, Kenneth Thompson

Patent number: 10075797Abstract: A constant-power pairwise panning upmixing system and method for upmixing from a two-channel stereo signal to a multi-channel surround sound (having more than two channels). Each output channel is some combination of the two input channels. Closed-form solutions are used to calculate dematrixing coefficients that are used to weight each input channel. The dematrixing coefficients are computed based on an inter-channel level difference and an inter-channel phase difference between the two input signals. The weighted input channels then are mixed uniquely for each output channel to generate a surround sound output from the stereo input signal. Each dematrixing coefficient has an in-phase component and an out-of-phase component. The phase coefficients for each component vary in time and are based on the phase difference between the input signals. The resultant surround sound output faithfully simulates the audio content as originally mixed.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2016Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: DTS, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey Kenneth Thompson

Patent number: 9552819Abstract: A multiplet-based spatial matrixing codec and method for reducing channel counts (and thus bitrates) of high-channel count (seven or more channels) multichannel audio, optimizing audio quality by enabling tradeoffs between spatial accuracy and basic audio quality, and converting audio signal formats to playback environment configurations. An initial N channel count is reduced to M channels by spatial matrix mixing to a lower number of channels using multiplet pan laws. The multiplet pan laws include doublet, triplet, and quadruplet pan laws. For example, using a quadruplet pan law one of the N channels can be downmixed to four of the M channels to create a quadruplet channel. Spatial information as well and audio content is contained in the multiplet channels. During upmixing the downmixed channel is extracted from the multiplet channels using the corresponding multiplet pan law. The extracted channel then is rendered at any location within a playback environment.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2014Date of Patent: January 24, 2017Assignee: DTS, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey Kenneth Thompson, Zoran Fejzo
