  • Publication number: 20240013439
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for calibrating a system (10) comprising an external eye-tracking device (16) and a computing device (12a; 12b) and for capturing the gaze of a user (P) on the screen (13) of the computing device in real-time. The calibration of the system (10) comprises: capturing with one or more cameras (17, 18) of the eye-tracking device (16) at least of one image of landmarks (f1, f2, f3 . . .

  • Publication number: 20230024396
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for capturing and displaying a video stream, comprising: capturing with one or a plurality of cameras a plurality of video streams of a scene, said scene comprising at least one person; reconstructing from said plurality of video streams a virtual environment representing the scene, determining the gaze direction of said person using at least one of said plurality of video streams; projecting said virtual environment onto a plane normal to said gaze direction for generating a virtual representation corresponding to what that person is looking at and from the point of view of that person; displaying said virtual representation on a display.

  • Publication number: 20220148333
Abstract: Method for estimating eye-related geometric parameters of a user, comprising the steps of: a. retrieving one input image observation corresponding to an image of the eye; b. using a learning machine for computing a plurality of image segmentation maps, so as to classify each pixel into one eye region; c. generating through a set of geometric parameters an image geometric model of the user's eye; d. comparing the image geometric model with an image segmentation map; e. computing a model correspondence value indicating if said input image observation corresponds to the geometric model; f. repeating steps c. to e. if the value computed under step e. is below an optimal value wherein one parameter is changed for each iteration until said model correspondence value reaches the optimal value, and g. retrieving the eye-related geometric parameters from the latest model of the user's eye.

  • Publication number: 20210319585
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for estimating a gaze at which a user is looking at. The method comprises a step of retrieving an input image and a reference image of an eye of the user and/or an individual. The method comprises then a step of processing the input image and the reference image so as to estimate a gaze difference between the gaze of the eye within the input image and the gaze of the eye within the reference image. The gaze of the user is the retrieved using the estimated gaze difference and the known gaze of the reference image. The invention also concerns a system for enabling this method.

  • Patent number: 10444831
Abstract: User-input apparatus for head gesture based control comprising: a camera for recording a head of a user; a database for defining a plurality of gestures of the head of the user and for relating at least some of the defined gestures to a corresponding user command; a detector for detecting one of the gestures defined in the database in the recording of the camera; a controller for identifying a user command in the database related to the detected gesture and for giving out the user command related to the detected gesture; wherein one of the defined gestures of the head is a switching gesture and one of the user commands is a switching command related to the switching gesture, wherein, when the switching command is given out from the controller, the user-input apparatus switches between a use mode for the head gesture based control and a settings mode.
