  • Patent number: 6508713
Abstract: A coupling assembly adapted to connect an engine directly to a transmission, comprising in combination a flywheel adapted to be connected to the engine. A modified transmission plate for connecting the transmission to the flywheel is provided. The modified transmission plate has a plurality of connection ports that contain alternatively at least a first torsional dampener and at least a second torsional dampener that are positioned within the connection port. The first torsional dampener has a first indentation hardness that is less than the second indentation hardness of the second torsional dampener. The first torsional dampener is adapted to dampen engine idle vibrations and the second torsional dampener is adapted to dampen engine acceleration vibrations. Whereby, the first torsional dampener and the second torsional dampener reduce the emission of torsional vibrations between the engine and the transmission.

  • Patent number: 6085557
Abstract: An anti-theft device, for preventing unauthorized access to the propeller retaining nut, includes two sections that fit together to form an access-preventing cap. The cap fits around an expanded rim normally found on propeller center-bodies, and the cap cannot be pulled off the propeller center-body without disengaging the two sections from one another. A tongue extending from one section is engaged by a grooved dowel going through the base portion of the second section to hold the two sections together. A key operated locking flap engages the groove in the dowel to prevent removal of the dowel without possession of the appropriate key. In a second embodiment, an adapter is placed on the propeller shaft, between the propeller and the propeller retaining nut. The access-preventing cap is of smaller dimensions than in the first embodiment and is shaped to engage the adapter.

  • Patent number: 5911793
Abstract: A transmission for propeller driven vehicles comprising semi-floating input and output shafts rotatably supported in a main gear case. The shafts are supported on bearings which are free from any locking engagement with the shafts. The bearings are secured in bearing bores positioned in both the bell housing and the main gear case. A vent tube is positioned in the bell housing which is aligned with the output shaft such that the output shaft rotates about the vent tube. Also, an opening is created between the junction of the bell housing and the engine of the vehicle to be propelled. This opening acts as an air induction duct for receiving air for cooling the transmission.
