  • Publication number: 20180312098
Abstract: An apparatus for loading and unloading containers of various lengths onto and off of a roll-off vehicle has a floating lockdown mechanism which moves relative to a front end of the top frame. The floating lockdown mechanism is movable away from the front end of the top frame to meet and releasably confine a front roller on a shorter container, such that the lockdown mechanism can be utilized without pulling the container all the way to the front end of the top frame.

  • Publication number: 20180170234
Abstract: A hoisting frame apparatus for loading and unloading containers onto and off of a roll-off vehicle includes adjustable head and tail portions that are cooperatively actuated by a single actuation stroke to move relative to a main portion of the hoisting frame apparatus. The hoisting frame apparatus includes a linkage connecting the tail portion to the head portion such that displacement of the head portion by a hoist actuator relative to the main portion causes displacement of the tail portion relative to the main portion. The total longitudinal displacement of the tail portion may be shorter than the total longitudinal displacement of the head portion, and the linkage may be configured to release the connection between the head and tail portions when the tail portion reaches a travel limit to allow independent further longitudinal displacement of the head portion.

  • Patent number: 9902305
Abstract: An apparatus for loading and unloading containers of various sizes onto and off of a roll-off vehicle comprises a top frame and at least one lift actuator operable to pivot the top frame away from a horizontal home position to rearwardly incline the top frame. The top frame includes a main portion, a head portion longitudinally displaceable relative to the main portion, a plurality of sheaves, a cable extending through the sheaves, and a hoist actuator operable to displace the head portion between a retracted position and an extended position. The cable has a fixed end coupled to the head portion and a free end for coupling to a container. The hoist actuator is operated while the top frame is away from the home position to displace the head portion toward the extended position to load a container onto the vehicle, and toward the retracted position to unload the container.

  • Patent number: 9227546
Abstract: An apparatus for a hook lift jib which is easily movable between an extended position and a retracted position to make the applications for use of this apparatus more universal since it is capable of being used for lifting and handling of refuse containers of various sizes. The jib member can be retained in the extended position by the placement of two locking pins extending therethrough or it can be capable of floating or automated self movement between the extended and retracted position responsive to removal of one of the pin members. The hook lift jib apparatus is designed to be particularly useful handling containers of different sizes particularly useful with containers wherein the container grip bar is between 54 inches and 61 inches from the adjacent ground surface.

  • Patent number: 4020804
Abstract: A diesel pile hammer housing is seated upon a pile and a ram moves alternately up and down within the housing, striking an anvil and driving the pile. The ram and the housing cooperate to define a power chamber and a separate scavenging chamber that are interconnected for gases to flow from the power chamber to the scavenging chamber. During the diesel operating cycle, upward movement of the ram creates a sub-atmospheric pressure in the scavenging chamber and gases are drawn from the power chamber into the scavenging chamber. During starting operation, the ram is elevated by a generally cylindrical push rod that fits through a circular guide bushing in the housing to contact the ram within the scavenging chamber. An intermediate portion of the push rod is deformed from its generally cylindrical shape by removal of a segment thereof to form a flat surface along one side of the rod.
