  • Patent number: 8352365
Abstract: A method and system for electronic bill presentment and payment using a third party intermediary is described. A third party provides an electronic post office that uses a virtual address directory to provide a level of abstraction in an EBPP data stream using the ACH network so that EBPP participants do not require the information that is typically required to process such transactions. By using the virtual address directory, neither the biller, nor the bank, nor the intermediary have all the consumer data used in the transaction. Accordingly, privacy is enhanced and any risk that privacy will be compromised is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20090006253
Abstract: A method for flexible automated comparison of a biller's data with the business customer's data via the EBPP system that is in place between the two. The biller stores a first set of customer billing data in its EBPP database. The customer stores a second set of customer billing data reflecting its most current information. The biller presents an electronic statement to the customer based on the first set of customer billing data. The customer selects one or more of the invoices for comparison and billing data fields to perform comparison on. The customer transmits an input file to the biller reflecting local data. The biller EBPP system then compares the customer's local billing data with the EBPP data. The step of comparing further includes selecting a comparison set of data from the EBPP data based on the one or more invoices selected by the customer. The comparison is performed on the fields indicated for comparison by the customer.

  • Patent number: 5471777
Abstract: A firearm sighting device is disclosed that prevents dominant eye crossover and ensures proper shoulder placement of the firearm for increased accuracy. The sighting device includes an elongated housing having an opening at one end, and a light source is disposed in the housing oppositely from the open end. The housing is adapted to be mounted on the barrel of a firearm with the opening directed toward the butt end portion of the firearm and with the light source near the muzzle end. The housing has a diameter and length sufficient to prevent the shooter's non-aiming eye from seeing the light source, so dominant eye crossover is prevented. The diameter of the housing also prevents the shooter's aiming eye from seeing the light source unless the aiming eye is properly aligned with the barrel, so the sighting device ensures that the firearm has been properly shouldered.

  • Patent number: 5322232
Abstract: A system for collecting paper trim and dust automates and simplifies the removal and disposal of trim. The system includes a funnel receiving the paper trim from an automatic trimmer, a drum and rewinder for winding the paper trim into a bale, and a dust trap for sucking dust from the drum and funnel into a dust bin. As the trim is baled, the rewinder drags the paper bale against the side of the drum. This drag compacts the bale and increases the load on the rewinder. As the drag load on the rewinder increases, the rewinder is moved radially towards the center of the drum to increase the distance between the rewinder and the drum wall. A current sensing circuit triggers the radial movement of the rewinder when the current load on the rewinder motor exceeds a threshold limit. This radial movement reduces the drag on the rewinder. When the rewinder reaches the center of the drum and the trim bale fills the drum, the rewinder is stopped and the trim bale removed.
