  • Patent number: 9821253
Abstract: A fuel filter, including: a housing, an inlet port, and an outlet port. The housing includes: a first axially disposed side wall forming a radially outermost portion of a circumference for the housing; a second axially disposed side wall located radially inward of the first axially disposed wall; a first radially disposed end wall connected to a first axial edge of the first axially disposed wall; and a second radially disposed end wall connected to a first axial edge of the second axially disposed side wall. The outlet port extends from the second radially disposed end wall and is radially aligned with the second axially disposed side wall. The inlet port extends from the first radially disposed end wall.

  • Patent number: 4896757
Abstract: An electromagnetic fan clutch having a radial flange adapted to be mounted to the fan drive hub of an internal combustion engine and an axial shaft connected to the radial flange. A fan hub, adapted to have a fan mounted thereto, is rotatably connected to the drive shaft adjacent to the radial flange. The radial flange has an axial hub spacing the fan hub from the flange portion of the radial flange a distance sufficient for the insertion of mounting bolts. An annular armature is connected to the fan hub by a plurality of leaf springs axially biasing the armature away from a stator. The stator is fixedly attached to the axial shaft and rotates therewith. A solenoid coil enclosed in a coil housing is disposed adjacent the stator. The coil housing is rotatably connected to the axial shaft and is held stationary by an anchor strap connected between the coil housing and a convenient stationary member in the engine compartment.

  • Patent number: 4744449
Abstract: A compact electromagnetic clutch has a toothed armature connected to a driven hub and a toothed driving hub which are moved into engagement with each other upon energization of an electromagnet. A precompressed spring disposed between the bottom of a cylindrical cup attached to the armature and the head of a pin attached to the driven hub biases the armature away from the driving hub. The precompressed spring provides a force strong enough to overcome residual magnetism. The spring is further compressed when the armature moves into engagement with the driving hub upon energization of the electromagnet. After de-energization of the electromagnet, the precompressed spring biases the armature away from the driving hub disengaging the armature teeth from the teeth of the driving hub. The electromagnet is provided with a shaped coil and a conventional ball bearing rotatably supports the driving hub to form an economical compact clutch.

  • Patent number: 4569426
Abstract: A clutch assembly for mounting to a rotatable element adjacent to a non-rotatable element. The clutch assembly has a first clutch member capable of being mounted to the rotatable element, a clutch body capable of being mounted to the rotatable element adjacent to the first clutch member, and a second clutch member axially movably interconnected with the clutch body. The first and second clutch members are normally biased into engagement. A brake is interposed the non-rotating element and the clutch body. The brake is automatically operable to inhibit rotation of the clutch body upon selective disengagement of the first and second clutch members.
