  • Publication number: 20200365028
Abstract: Implementations of a semitrailer collision avoidance system are provided. In some implementations, the semitrailer collision avoidance system comprises a camera system and an application, such as a mobile application or a software application, for interfacing with the camera system using a computing device, such as a portable smart phone/device or a semi/non-portable video monitor device. In some implementations, an example method of using the semitrailer collision avoidance system comprises attaching the camera system to a semitrailer, pairing the camera system and the computing device using the application, and monitoring one or more areas adjacent to the semitrailer with the camera system using the application on the computing device to avoid a collision or other accident of the semitrailer.

  • Publication number: 20110282407
Abstract: An implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) has a programmable ICD energy level corresponding to the maximum defibrillation energy deliverable with each defibrillation shock pulse. The ICD energy level is programmable within the maximum energy capacity of the defibrillation capacitor(s) of the ICD. In various embodiments, after a user enters the ICD energy level, one or more corresponding ICD performance parameters are presented. Restrictions are applied to the energy level programming of the ICD to ensure the predictability of the one or more ICD performance parameters.

  • Publication number: 20090228011
Abstract: A cranial perforator includes a generally cylindrical driver, a generally cylindrical drill member and a generally cylindrical sleeve therebetween. The driver is connected to the proximal end of the sleeve. The drill member is connected to the distal end of the sleeve. The sleeve has an internal clutch mechanism to selectively transfer rotational movement from the driver to the drill member. The drill member has an inner drill and an outer drill disposed about the inner drill. The inner drill has a distal end that has only two drilling flutes. A proximal end of the outer drill has a first predetermined diameter D1. A distal end of the outer drill has a second predetermined diameter D2, with the first predetermined diameter D1 being greater than the second predetermined diameter D2. A transition from the first predetermined diameter D1 to the second predetermined diameter D2 is a smooth, preferably radiused curve.

  • Patent number: 7575768
Abstract: A nutritional supplement, prepared food product, or direct food additive for ingestion by mammals, and methods for preparing such products, are provided. Products of the invention comprise an oxidation-resistant fat-based composition substantially free of exogenous solubilizing and dispersing agents for phytosterols. The fat-based composition includes greater than 25% and less than 75% by weight of one or more triglyceride-based edible oil or fat, and greater than 25% and less than 75% by weight of one or more non-esterified phytosterols. The fat-based composition, when exposed to air, contains a reduced amount of oxidative by-products compared to a similar fat-based composition lacking non-esterified phytosterols. Also provided are methods for reducing plasma cholesterol in mammals, and methods for protecting plasma lipoproteins and cholesterol from oxidation by ingestion of products of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20070223737
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to an audio system (100) and an associate method. An exemplary embodiment of the system (100) comprises a user interface (104) that enables adjustment of a volume level of an audio signal being reproduced on at least a portion of the audio system to a desired maximum volume level. The user interface further enabling the desired maximum volume level to be selected as a set maximum volume level. A processor (102) electrically interconnected with the user interface is adapted to limit the volume at which audio programs are reproduced on at least a portion of the audio system to said set maximum volume level. An exemplary method comprises generating an audio signal, adjusting a volume level of the audio signal to a desired maximum volume level in response to a user input, and establishing the desired maximum volume level as a set maximum volume level for audio programs played on at least a portion of the audio system (100).
