  • Publication number: 20150172327
Abstract: A system and method for sharing previously visited locations in a social network includes a location-aware computing device (for example, a smartphone) configured to send, to a server, a historical log of data representative of a path previously travelled by a user. The server may determine one or more candidate places of interest along the previously travelled path based on the historical data, and provide the candidate places of interest to the user for selection. On the user selecting one or more of the displayed candidate places of interest, the server may provide the selected places of interest to a social network for display to other users in the social network, to inform the other users that the user visited those places.
