  • Publication number: 20240085185
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for submersion detection and underwater depth and low-latency temperature estimation. In an embodiment, a method comprises: determining a first set of vertical accelerations obtained from an inertial sensor of a wearable device; determining a second set of vertical accelerations obtained from pressure data; determining a first feature associated with a correlation between the first and second sets of vertical accelerations; and determining that the wearable device is submerged or not submerged in water based on a machine learning model applied to the first feature. In another embodiment, a method comprises: determining a submersion state of a wearable device; and responsive to the submersion state being submerged, computing a forward estimate of water temperature based on measured ambient water temperature at the water surface, a temperature error lookup table, and a rate of change of the ambient water temperature.

  • Publication number: 20140174988
Abstract: Methods are provided for producing low sulfur diesel fuels by performing multi-stage hydroprocessing at low pressure on a distillate feed. A feedstock suitable for forming a diesel fuel product is hydrotreated at a hydrogen partial pressure of 500 psig or less in at least two reaction stages. In order to provide improved desulfurization and/or aromatic saturation activity in the final stage, the stages are configured so that the highest hydrogen pressure and/or highest hydrogen purity are delivered to the last hydrotreatment stage.

  • Patent number: 6136896
Abstract: This invention relates to graft copolymers containing polydiorganosiloxane and polybutylene grafts. More particularly this invention relates to a graft copolymer having a backbone and two or more polymeric side chains, the copolymer formed from the copolymerization of at least one acryloxyalkyl-functional polydiorganosiloxane macromonomer, at least one acryl-terminated, carboxyl-functional polybutylene macromonomer, and at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer which is copolymerizable with the polydiorganosiloxane and polybutylene macromonomers. This invention also relates to a method of making graft copolymers containing polydiorganosiloxane and polybutylene grafts.

  • Patent number: 5502107
Abstract: A crumb-like silicone rubber powder is uniformly dispersed in a polystyrene polymer using conventional equipment, such as a twin screw extruder, to provide a resin having up to a ten fold improvement in impact strength over the unmodified polymer. The novel silicone rubber powder of the invention is prepared by isolating the particles obtained from a polymerization of an unsaturated monomer in the presence of an aqueous emulsion of a unsaturated telechelic polydiorganosiloxane which has been prepared using an organotin curing catalyst and a dihydrolyzable grafting silane.

  • Patent number: 4735136
Abstract: In a refuse compactor wherein refuse in a disposable bag within a receptacle is compacted by a ram driven by a reversible electric motor, a "full bag" indicator lamp is energized when the refuse compacted in the receptacle is at a predetermined level. The motor drives the ram downward into the receptacle to compact the refuse, and when the ram slows in response to the reactive load of the refuse, a centrifugal switch reverses the direction of the motor to return the ram to a rest position above the receptacle. The bag is diagnosed full to energize the indicator lamp if the ram is at a predetermined level in the receptacle when the motor reverses. The indicator lamp is controlled by a latching relay that requires only one pair of contacts to energize and latch on the lamp.
