  • Patent number: 6682463
Abstract: The fluid collection system for ring events comprises a mat, an extraction port and connector, a flexible hose and wet vacuum source. The mat has raised edges to support a sloped surface that gravity feeds the extraction port and raised gasket depressions to support a ring stool. The extraction port has apertures for drainage and is connected to the flexible hose and wet vacuum source by the extraction port connector. This connector fits into at the rear of the extraction port at the 90° angle of the mat. The mat is hinged to allow it to fold in either direction for rapid deployment and removal. When the mat is deployed, all fluids distributed in the competitors corners will be removed by aide of gravity and the wet vacuum source, leaving the surfaces clean and dry. The fluid collection system promotes safety, hygienic, fair ring event conditions.

  • Publication number: 20020091040
Abstract: The Korner Cone™ is a ring event safety mat. The Korner Cone™ is a cone shaped, water resistant mat, using gravity and vacuum drainage to collect and remove the fluids and liquids distributed in the corner during the competitive or training break between rounds of a boxing, kickboxing, or ring event The Korner Cone™ has angled gravity drainage directing fluid flow to slotted vacuum tubes that run parallel through the center of the cone. The vacuum tubes are connected by a vacuum port connector and flexible vacuum hose to a wet vacuum collection container that houses a vacuum pump and motor. The Korner Cone™ features 4 open gasket seals to allow the ring stool to be supported by the ring surface and provides a water tight seal around the stool legs. The Korner Cone™ promotes safe, hygienic, fair ring event conditions.
