Patent number: 11988854Abstract: A holographic skew mirror has a reflective axis, or skew axis, that can be tilted with respect to its surface normal. Tilting the skew axis in two dimensions with respect to the surface normal expands the holographic skew mirror's possible field of view, e.g., to 60 or more. These additional angles can be accessed using an out-of-plane writing geometry with matched total internal grazing extension rotation (TIGER) prisms.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2017Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: Akonia Holographics LLCInventors: Mark R. Patent number: 11947165Abstract: A multi-fiber cable assembly includes a pigtail segments spliced to a trunk segment using multiple mass fusion splices. The splices are disposed within an encapsulation at a common axial location. A flexible conduit extends from one end of the encapsulation to protect bare fibers of the trunk segment. A protective sheath extends from the opposite end of the encapsulation to protect the pigtail segments. The conduit and sheath are axially fixed to the encapsulation.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2020Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: COMMSCOPE TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Cyle D. Petersen, John Paul Anderson, Thomas Marcouiller, Kenneth Allen Skluzacek, Jonathan R. Kaml

Publication number: 20240103290Abstract: Optical systems for performing gaze tracking and imaging an external scene are disclosed. An example optical system may include light sources for emitting visible and non-visible light. The optical system may include a waveguide that is operatively coupled to the light sources. A volume holographic light coupling element may be disposed between the surfaces of the waveguide. The volume holographic light coupling element may include a grating medium and a first volume holographic grating structure within the grating medium. In some examples, the first volume holographic grating structure may be configured to reflect non-visible light of a first wavelength about a first reflective axis offset from a surface normal of the grating medium at a first incidence angle. The optical system may also include an optical filter. Another example optical system may include an imaging device that is configured to receive the light external to the optical system.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Mark R. Ayres, Adam Urness, Kenneth E. Anderson, Friso Schlottau

Patent number: 11106473Abstract: An integrated computing system configuration system includes a computer-based system that when executed, receives component definitions associated with physical components that are to be configured in a portion of a first sub-system of a first customized integrated computing system. Using the received component definitions, the system generates the first sub-system definition, which can be combined with a second sub-system definition to form a first integrated computing system. The system may also combine the first sub-system definition with another second sub-system definitions to form a second customized integrated computing system definition that is different from the first customized integrated computing system definition.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2019Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Kenneth R.
