The threaded shaft (108) is coupled to a crushing head (109), which translates toward the anvil (104) when a lever (110) coupled to the threaded shaft (108) is rotated radially about an axis (301) of the threaded shaft (108). When a pill crushing pouch (500) having pills (703) therein is placed between the crushing head (109) and the anvil (104), rotation of the lever (110) crushes the pills (703).
