    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for melt spinning and cooling a plurality of monofilaments which are extruded through a plurality of openings of a spinneret and guided into a cooling bath. The removal process consists of redirecting the monofilaments within the cooling bath. According to the invention, in order to prevent adhesion and an oblique pull-off, the monofilaments are divided into multiple filament groups after extrusion, said groups consisting of multiple monofilaments, and the filament groups are individually redirected independently of each other within the cooling bath into multiple redirecting positions by separate redirecting sheaves.
