  • Publication number: 20160028693
Abstract: Approaches for providing security for a programmable logic controller (PLC) are provided and include cloning a security module as a PLC proxy by copying at least one of a media access control (MAC) address and an internet protocol (IP) address of the PLC and determining, based on a predetermined security criteria, whether to route the message to the PLC. Based on the determination, the message is selectively routed to the PLC. So configured, by cloning the security module as the PLC proxy is effective to route network traffic intended for the PLC to the security module.

  • Publication number: 20150334164
Abstract: A seamless and secure communication path from a control network to a cloud server is created. The network is coupled to one or more control devices. Tag information from a control network is obtained. The tag information includes one or more programmed variables associated with the one or more control devices controlled by a control system. The tag information is seamlessly and automatically uploaded from the control network to the cloud server via the seamless communication path according to at least one predetermined criteria.

  • Publication number: 20130305517
Abstract: Systems and methods for mechanically coupling multiple components using captured threaded connectors are provided. The attachment points between components are aligned along a common central axis about which the channels are aligned. Threaded connectors are provided and contained within a pocket within each component, prior to assembly of the system. As a result, components of the system can be detached without disassembly of other components, or without the use of special thread patterns to allow clearance for the driver for the head of each. Threaded connectors are kept from falling out and are also allowed to float along their axis within the channel so that components can be aligned first, and then anchored together. Drivers used to couple components have a diameter smaller than the channel.
